Beckerhead Jobs

I am the Director of Maintenance for an apartment company in NOVA atm. Hoping to be a Regional Director of Maintenance soon.

I was a Master Tech for Mazda for 12 years, got bored of that and did construction for a 8 years to learn everything I would need to know to round out my mechanical skill set. Got my ass chewed off one morning for something I didn't actually do so I just walked off and started a biz on ebay that I took to platinum seller status within two years. Took up leather as a hobby then a job that I actually like and turned the platinum accounts over to a family member in need.

That burger looks so good I would happily depopulate my neighborhood for it and it's only 8:30

That burger looks legit. There's a franchise called Buffalo Wild Wings, that has something similar, called the Big Jack Daddy, but with pulled pork instead of brisket. Good stuff.

I'm not technically a beckerhead, but I'll post anyway. I build effects pedals for musicians. Mostly one-offs/custom stuff, but I've been working on getting a small company started, and should be releasing a few of my own designs within the year. There are people testing them for me right now actually.

My main source of income these days comes from helping students get into college, as a Master tutor for The Princeton Review. I'm pretty well tapped into the whole college admissions thing, so if any of you have kids that are college bound (start preparing sophomore year if you want the best odds), I'm your guy to talk to.

I'm also a hobbyist knife maker. I'm happily married to the real bread-winner, who's currently studying to become a neurologist for the USAF, which means I don't have to support us any more. I've worked a wide variety of jobs, mostly in education and sales.

I'm not an official beckerhead yet, but I'm an automotive painter at a dealership, I used to do a lot of custom paint (hot rods, lowriders etc) but not enough money in that around here...even though I enjoy it more

I enjoy knives and use one of my small blades for masking instead of razor blades everyday I'm at work

I'm a Genius. At least, that is what Apple calls me andhas on my business cards. I like "Certified Technician" just fine. The "Genius" title is incredibly presumptuous. Going on 8 or 9 years with them.

I finished my Masters in Library and Information Science in May. I'm about 3/4 of the way done with the hiring process with LA City to become a Librarian and kiss Apple goodbye!

Im not a beckerhead, though am thinking about applying for a number. Im 24 years old and i've been a physician assistant in New York for 2 yrs now. Applying to medical school next year!

Congrats! I have a close friend that's completing his masters to become a librarian, as well. I never knew how in-demand that position is and how much education it takes.

I mass produce copper wire at a high rate of speed, offering a quality product at a competative price.

My day job is as an acoustics consultant. I mostly work with recording studios (lots of people are now putting project studios in their homes) and audiophile listening rooms and home theaters. If you do music of any kind in a room of any kind, I can make it sound better.

However, my Becker money (and indeed most of my play money) comes from my meadmaking hobby and website. If you are interested in meadmaking, you can help finance future Becker-related purchases (I'm looking at you, Skystorm) by purchasing my eBook from my website in my sig. :-)

This one doesn't have a name yet (any ideas?). It is a twist on our Tri-Tip Sandwich. Mine has tri-tip,

Maybe it's a West/East thing, but I've never heard the term "tri-tip" before now. What is it?

I've been a machinist since I did my day care inside my Dad's contract machine shop. I started playing with the lathe when I was 8. After school and the Army I went to work for Pitney Bowes as an electronic technician building test equipment to test circuit boards and assemblies used in copy machines. After proving that I could survive outside of the family business I went back for a couple of decades. In 1988 I sold off the production machinery and used the money to put self storage rooms inside the building.

Been doing that as a semi-retirement since then. The time between phone calls and pesky customers lets me do knife stuff using the support machinery I kept when I converted the building over.
Since the advent of the Storage Wars TV show my phone rings excessively with people wanting to know when my next auction is. Let me tell you something: it ain't reality TV.
Storage rooms are not CrackerJack boxes -- there isn't a prize in every one, if you only look hard enough. :D

My other "job" is as a dog handler for a volunteer search and rescue team. Besides the local statewide stuff of walk-away Alzheimers patients, we spend a day at the World Trade site right after the hit, and spent a week in Waveland, MS, after Katrina.

Short answer: I'm a lab rat.

Long answer: I'm a scientist in the biotech/ pharmaceutical industry. A separate site collects bodily fluid specimen (blood, cerobrospinal fluid, etc) from patients (human or animal) that have been administered a therapeutic. Specimen are sent to us, and we test and analyze them. I've worked at different companies over the years, and have worked on various drug types ranging from allergy medicine to breast cancer treatments to Alzheimer's Disease therapeutics. 1/3 of my work is actual testing, 1/3 is documentation compliance, and the last 1/3 is sample logistics and lab/ equipment maintenance.

To fund my expensive hobbies, though, I've been thinking of making some side cash, Full Monty style. Idea did not fly well with the wife :D

I'm a 22 year old college student going for Landscape Design. No job while in school, but on breaks I work for my Uncle's construction business.

Carpenter, building houses, stores, apparments and restoring old buildings to the original state (some houses are just to old and special not to save)...
Oooh, and my BK11 or BK17 are riding in my belt every day at work, LOL...

Graphic Designer by trade currently in management working the corporate gig. Search and Rescue volunteer for fun.

I am a Global project manager for a large consumer electronics company, been doing that for 5 years now.
