Beckerhead Knife Making and Modification Thread

Thanks, I put it together without the swedge and spine work and it just looked too plain, like a shortened 16. And as we all know, we just can't leave well enough alone.

Oh, fyi, it still opens bottles but the factory opener is gone... (something for you guys to figure out til I get the photos up.

Hey Guys,

As a more or less a very practical person, I'm in trouble :foot: I am very early into my "adjustment so to say of the BK39" and I already have another thought I might fit in, an additional change, before my next real camping excursion late August. I am not one who ever mods any knife for any reason it just doesn't make sense, BUT! in this case I can blame it on my first Becker right? Anyway, I have beat the heck out of this knife, more than most I think, for just a very short time since I obtained it. I have thought? Well, the handle is one thing but if I was to try a bit more there is no way I could hurt a totally capable knife which will be with me for years to come, Worthy of ownership, Inexpensive, High value Knife that realistically can stand next to $400.00 Plus knives and above.

It may be a couple weeks, but stay tuned... The Becker Craze is becoming reality I enjoy,,, TD

aaaaalmost done. still needs a sheath and edge. Shaped and sanded the handle tonight.
New model at 110% scale. *love*

Daizee wins the thread! IBTL!

Dayum, daiz....you better get cracking on production for that one. Looks like you just sold a dozen of 'em.
110% worthy of your new mark.

Actually I have a question: what method are you using to make your mark?

Sweet knife Daizee!
That looks awesome!
Very nice design. Looks great!

Thanks again, guys.
I just finished the sheath & edge, and I really really like this one. Hopefully it will be out cleaning some tuna next week!
This might be a candidate for a waterjet pattern. This one, the paring knife, and one or two others along with the 'dashi. If I were to go, you know, legit.

GSOM, the mark is electro-chemically etched. I bought "The Personalizer" full kit from one of the independent knife-making supply shops. (don't recall if they're a sponsor here.) A guy in Mass. made the stencil from the artwork I sent him.

This is the understudy. Practice for another. Hopefully I can match it...
SO MUCH FITTING!

Daiz....I think you used WAY more Micarta than you needed to.
Seriously, though....I want one.

I'll send you the dust. :D
One thing I've learned: leave room for error!

BTW, the bolster parts are all G10 for grippiness when wet.

Wow daizee, those are some great looking blades man! Idk what it is but something about that drop point is just sexy and those horizontal lines set it off.
