I can't top that. Not even going to try. The riding form is excellent. Just the right amount of grace and confidence.

...walking off with a rare pass around...

Make that two (2). He got the Brute and my FFG BK17 hybrid passaround -- pretty rare in it's own right.

Sorry, but what's a "GBU" (I'm probably not the only one with the question mark, but I'm the one with the balls to ask...)?

The good the bad and the ugly. It's in feedback, it's where you can post about someone being great to deal with or...not so much.

I'm pretty sure he has a pretty damn good story. Not so good on his end, but he's dealing with a lot. He'll get it returned. I'll text him and give him a heads up as well.

I'm not really thinking he's the sort to do this sort of thing deliberately (and he's got a goodly portion of my steel), and we've already seen how he deals with getting overwhelmed (aka, very poorly), so I wouldn't be surprised if he's got a good story. But most of us are pretty chill fellows, I like to think, and a little disclosure goes a LONG ways. If he would just let me know that he's having problems, and whatever, I'd be happy to wait or help out or whatever. The problem is, my steel and my emails are both in the same $&%@ black hole. I don't know what's happened to him or them. He's made no effort at ALL to communicate with me, to let me know what the deal is. I understand there being some problems, but it's not that hard, even if you don't have internet, to find somewhere that does have internet, or someone who does, who can get your story out there so people know you're not just stealing their stuff. He needs to just take the time to tell someone the story, or explain it himself, and then we can work together as a team to solve whatever problems need solving. Us Beckerheads do pretty good at that. It's gonna have to be an epic story to explain the lack of communication, especially as he seems to be responding to some texts and such?

I text him that y'all were questioning his whereabouts and the condition of your knives and such. He is going through a rough patch, but here was his reply: "I know. Been indisposed for a bit. All their shit is safe, no ebay sales. It'll all be shipped home soon. I apologize, bad shit all the way around."

I believe he is down at either his parent's or his brother's farm. No internet out there. He didn't have a phone for a while. He hadn't paid the bill so it had been shut off.

Playing with the idea of buying my first pistol, anyone have any experience with a Sig Sauer Mosquito VS. Ruger 22/45? Preferably someone who has handled both? I am a newb on firearms so I know nothing (hence my desire to start on a .22). I want something that I will still have and use years from now when I have bigger, better guns.

Get the Ruger. Proven platform in terms of function and accuracy. Sig has not had much luck building durable reliable and affordable field grade .22s in the last 10 years (the Trailside series). The Sig Mosquito looks cool, but so do the plastic airsoft pistols at Walmart..;)

Seriously, if you are just going to buy one and want it to last, get the Ruger.

Thanks man, I don't even know what websites to go to for good gun reviews! Plus most of them are in jargon that I don't know yet so they don't make much sense. Going to look into a Ruger...

22/45 hands down. It has been around a long time and is very reliable. The mosquito has been known to have a ton of reliability issues.

Just did some reading and the Ruger sounds good, only concern I've read about so far is that it is a bit difficult to disassemble?

I agree 100% with Wildcat and Jim on the 22/45 being the better gun. However, the only things I don't like about the Ruger is 1. Taking it apart. 2. Its heavy. 3. For some reason it seems louder than most .22's. I don't want to talk you into something you don't want. But IMO. Best .22 pistol for the money, is the browning buckmark. I've owned all three of these guns and the buckmark is the only one I still have. And I'm not gettin rid of it. I love that gun. Might wanna check it out.

I agree. I've had both, and the Browning has introduced many friends (women included) into the world of firearms. Ultra simple, while looking like an Olympic target pistol. :D

If you want a beginner gun that is even more simple -- and "traditional" -- get a Ruger Single Six revolver.

Whatever you do, don't take gun magazines' articles as gospel. They are all whores, pandering to advertisers and afraid that if they say anything bad about a firearm it will be picked up by the antigunners. I've handled guns that I wondered if this is the same gun the article I'd read was reviewing.
