What Daizee said is probably your best option. OR also like he said, go bolt. I'll recommend a CZ 452 or 455.

Apparently AC has excellent taste in affordable bolt .22's.
I have a 452-ZKM and it's amazing.

Anyone do anything cool for Labor Day? I just BBQ'd for a few close friends and did some day drinking, followed by an afternoon nap :)

I celebrated my Grandpa's 79th birthday with him and the rest of the family. Also slipped out for a quick, but unsuccessful squirrel hunt.

Why thank you. I don't actually have one, but the one I've handled shot nicely and was a beauty. There is a 452 American in my very near future. Its a rifle that I lust after and I NEED to get one before they are all gone. I don't want to regret not getting one like I regret not getting a Dan Wesson CBOB when they were discontinued. What model is the ZKM?

damn, the hits just keep on coming...
I wanted a CBOB for the longest time. Already had a Kimber and couldn't justify it.

My ZKM is an older version of the current 452 with the euro stock and nice military style open sights.
Shoulders like a fine shotgun, shoots like a magic wand. CZ ships the best open sights on a factory .22 short of a match rifle. (I haven't looked at the Anschutz .22 sporter lineup recently)

Marlin 39 or Henry .22 lever guns work well with subsonic ammo.
the whap of the bullet hitting a prairie dog is louder than the report when using .22 shorts in one of those.

If I ever come across a CBOB I'll have to find a way to get it if the price isn't ridiculous. I'm halfway thinking that open sights would be fun to start shooting on rifles again. I'll have to check out the ZKM.

This reminds me of hunting squirrels with my grandfather's old Winchester model 60 and a pocket full of .22 shorts. :D

The CZ 452 is an amazing 22 rifle. It's most likely going to be my next purchase, since I've got my son shooting a 22lr rifle, now. When he grows out of the youth model, he can start using the Winchester 22 that I inherited from my grandpa and I'll have something nice to shoot, still!

I'm also mildly interested in a Savage, because they have an excellent reputation for accuracy and value. I think the CZ just has that classic style that's being lost to tacticool and shooting-team style designs.

The CZ is twice the gun of the savage, and just as accurate.
Tho there IS that one Savage that comes with match-style peep sights as a smallbore entry model, and that's cool.

Subsonics ARE great in levers. I just wouldn't put the 60gr Aguila's in them because of the potential for a misfeed due to the long lead surface and the camming action of a levergun.

Dove hunting yesterday.

Not as many dove flying this year. This is the first time in many years we haven't all limited out the opening weekend. Bagged a few in the morning and we went back out for a few more in the afternoon.

Used to. As far as flavor goes, I prefer the low sodium variety, though.

I didn't know low sodium was an option in Wisconsin...

As far as the Spicy Hot V-8 goes, I love it!
Can't stand the original though. Funny.
