Agreed. Some chiropractors are pretty good, but there's a lot that don't really know what they're doing. Part of the problem is that the education isn't really consistent from one to another. Check out the list of chiropractic credentials and you'll see what I mean. There are dozens of different ones, and several of them require only relatively minimal education, and virtually no anatomical background or knowledge, let alone medical knowledge. I'm lucky in that my wife is a D.O., who has done quite a bit of osteopathic manipulation, and I've given her a lot of practice with sports injuries. If you can find a D.O. who specializes in OMT (osteopathic manipulative technique), you might consider trying it out in place of a chiropractor. They'll have gotten the same education as an M.D., a chiropractor, and a massage therapist, all rolled into one.
