Beer talk

Yeah, the Staghorn was very tasty. Heck they both were good, both are head and shoulders above Leinies O-fest. I'm very tempted to crack another Staghorn. :)

Tonight a Brasserie La Choulette, La Choulette Ambree, 750ml, 8% ABV, it's a Biere de Garde, very very tasty.

Good stuff.

I'm volunteering at the GABF in 2 weeks again. I usually go with a goal in mind and this year it will be to try Biere de GArde, Saison, flemish style browns/reds ala Rodenbach/Goudenband.

The secret is to volunteer for the Saturday daytime tasting session. The place isn't packed, the judging occurs then, you have lots of free time to roam/taste, etc. Most of the brewers are pretty cool and give away swag too.

Anyone know of American brewers in these styles?

The ones I am currently aware of available in larger geographic areas:
new belg, solana pizza port, jolly pumpkin, dragons meade, iothers?????

Jolly Pumkin for sure, lol Two Brothers, The Lost Abbey, Russian River, Southampton, Schlafly, too name a few.

I wish I could go to the GABF, but way to far of a drive with the prices of gas on my X. Have fun though.

Up here in Canada we enjoy beer just as much as our neighbors down south, thats why I felt compelled to give my bit. As we speak I am enjoying a red stripe, which is a Jamaican lager. My every day favourite beer is from a local micro brewery called Grandville Island brewing. The beer is called English Bay pale ale, and it won a gold metal in the 2007 world championships.
But when I really wanna live it up, I go to a very quaint cold beer and wine store on the other side of town to buy a Belgian beer called Gulden Draak. I gotta tell u, it is the best beer ive ever tried.

dieterkrause,

If you like Gulden Draak, you should look for some Unibroue in your area, it is made in Quebec, awesome brew's.

Waiting for me in the fridge for tonight, Unibroue Quatre-Centième. Can't wait, I have never been disapointed in their special releases.

Tonight a fabulous brew from Allagash, Odyssey, 750ml, 10.4% ABV. Highly recommended, this is one of the best BSDA I've had to date.

Second brew for the night, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #6, a very tasty Barley Wine, 12oz., 10% ABV.

I had a new one tonight, and it's Priate beer!!!! Biere du Boucanier 750 ml 11% ABV, an insanely tastey, suprisingly smooth belgian golden ale.

Shoalin, where do you get all your dang beer from!?!?!? I found that one at the Beverages etc. on base and was pretty stoked because I'd never seen it before

That particular brew I got in the State Liquor store here in UT, but alot and I mean alot, I trade for.

Cheers!

This afternoon a very tasty Great Lakes Imperial Dortmunder, 12oz., 7.3% ABV, I really like this one.

Cheers!

Today, a very tasty brew from Brasserie Duyck Jenlain Biere De Noel, 750ml, 6.8% ABV, a Biere de Garde style brew.

Last night one from Big Sky, Scape Goat Pale Ale. Very good and was as hoppy as alot of IPAs, heck I even had to double check to see if it was an IPA. A big thanks to the guy that sent me this to try. .
