Beer talk

I'm out the door in 20 minutes to enjoy my Birthday Beer(s)- I have that Vertical Epic (w/ a note on it threatening Grevious Bodily Harm to any/all who should disturb it) waiting for me at my local right down the street. If the planets are aligned correctly- there may be more than one... Wish me luck-
Slainte,
Mike

Rogue is my favorite brewery, just tried the Double Dead Guy but the regular Morimoto (not the black obi) is my usual, as well as the Hazlenut Brown Nectar. Was in training in Mass. recently and tried some Berkshire Brewing Company, Steel Rail and Lost Sailor IPA, very nice but they are a microbrew so I'm unable to get it here in NY. A lot of great beer out there that makes it difficult to drink Buds and Heinies again, and even give wine a run for the money in choosing something to complement your dinner.

Jose,

I love the Berkshire brew's, try these if you can find them:

Berkshire Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale
Berkshire Imperial Stout
Cabin Fever Ale
Coffeehouse Porter
Holidale
Raspberry Strong Ale

Cheers!

Today a very nice Belgian Strong Pale Ale from Stone, 08-08-08 Vertical Epic, 22oz. Bomber, 8.4% ABV. A nice twist on this style.

Picked up some Dogfish Head Midas Touch this afternoon. It's pretty good a little sweeter then I prefer and definently on the light side, would have been a good one to try this summer.

I picked up a bomber of the Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout from Great Divide Brewery to try out tonight too, if I end up having no plans tonight.

Oak Aged Yeti is very nice, I still have a bottle that I've been sitting on for about a year.

Another brew this afternoon, Bornem Dubbel, 330ml, 8% ABV, a nice one.

Gruntin', I concur. Sam Adams Black Lager is a great go-to beer.

Tonight, I mixed a Dundee Oktberfest with a Shipyard Pumpkinhead. Its flavor was light yet slightly complex with a definite fruitiness. It was smooth and non-bitter. It'd go best with a piece of pumpkin pie and whipped cream :)

I'm thoroughly enjoying mixing beers. I had a mixed black-and-tan a couple of weeks ago with brats which was very tasty.

Tonight a pretty tasty brew from Hoppin' Frog, Bodacious Black & Tan, 22oz. Bomber, 7.6% ABV.

My german half is calling me and I have a New Glarus Staghorn chilling right now. It is a very tasty Oktoberfest.

I'm start'n on my third George Killian. Formally known some years back as Killian's Red. Its been sitting in the freezer for 'bout two hours and is just this side of liquid. :D I can taste the brew just perfectly though me throat is seriously and sufficiently Ice COLD! :D

How's yours db?

Another one tonight, Victory Lager, a tasty one, 12oz., 5.2% ABV.

Hey db, how was the Devastator?

The Devastator was pretty good. I could get in real trouble if I had a sixer. It is a beer with a big smooth taste and a big kick to go along with it.

Glad you liked it db.

Tonight another Hoppin' Frog brew, this time a very tasty Baltic Porter, Silk Porter, 22oz. Bomber, 6.2% ABV.

had a few Hales offerings pale and menace red recently. I love the yeast used in both. It imparts a nice 'fruity' finish.

4 days until my 'volunteer' session at GABF. Should be fun. I'm stationed next to the stage during the voting session.

Another one from a local brewery Duzy Piwo from O'So. I didn't like it at all, but all is not lost I picked up a 4 pack of Duvel tonight.

I'm enjoying a Nøgne Ø # 100 tonight (style: American Barleywine); very nice! Much more hops than I thought...
