Benchmade 761 is in stock!

I've carried it for a week. I don't see or feel anything that suggests it is catastrophically weak or flimsy. The clip doesn't even touch the frame. It's not designed ed to be the over travel stop at all. I don't think it's weak tension either. It's stronger than my Benchmade Lum Tanto framelock

Geeez. It took forever to get to that guy's "problem" in the video. What a relief that his issue is totally subjective. Having not handled this knife yet, I'll go with Benchmade's R&D on this one. If there is a problem in the future, I'll go with their warranty. Mine is backordered so the waiting game proceeds...

Dang!!!---And here I was going to chop down a Redwood or 2 !!! Guess I will have to just stick to pine trees till they beef it up some!!! Geeze !!!!!

I'm not a fan of his videos. He's long winded...

Ho hum...another blue box...what do we have here? Oh it's not what you thought it was...Gee is this knife copied...I just sharpened this for my buddy...he drop ships knives to me to sharpen...Grace and peace to you and something about Jesus...the word is sharp and so are the knives I sharpen.

And just to show I'm not a fanboy; I don't plan on buying the 761. Sweet looking knife but I don't like that the clip covers the pivot. I also go back and forth on how I feel about titanium handles.

Long winded- I think his videos define long winded. There is often times some useful information there but he likes the sound of his own voice too much to make it worth watching. In this case I think the issue is over-blown and completely without scientific or engineering analysis. Let's put a gauge on the lock bar to measure resistance and then take it to the failure point before claiming it's doomed to fail.

Yea, I would love to see him snap that lockbar with his thumb.

ApostleP is a good guy. Sounds like this one just didn't hit him right. The 761 is a great knife--at least by my estimation.

It is the next knife I buy to put in my pocket.

Good guy probably, but videos seem more to me like an infomercial for his sharpening service. That seems to take center stage over the knife itself. In the case of this knife, as any of the other reviews out there, he's entitled to his opinion. Everyone will find their own reason not to like something.

I compared the detent to my two Spyderco Militarys, liner lock and a Ti frame lock, and it's equal if not stronger than the Militarys.

The lockbar cut out only looks thin at the edge. The angle brings it back to the thickness of the fame half way through.
That video is ridiculous. I think this thread should be locked just to let that vid drift off to obscurity. This vid author uses big words but in the end sounds like an amateur.

While I wholeheartedly disagree with that video I also disagree that the thread should be locked. Let people speak their mind with less attention to that video.

You're right. We should be sharing the best attributes of the 761. Nothing CRK offers is as beautiful as the 761

I agree with most of this , but I think CRK makes a dam good knife IMHO
The 761 and CRK arent any where near the same to be compared as such. They might look similar in some ways but so do alot of other knives.
IMHO , theres only so many shapes and sizes or styles one can make ............LOL
