Benchmade griptilian thread!!!

I've owned a couple Ritter Grips, a Mini, and full sized, as well as a 556 and a 550...traded them all. Now because of this thread and all of you enabelers:D I have a new 551 on it's way from NGK. I also agree that the Grip series is one of the best values, and makes for a perfect work EDC, for me. Many people don't like the plasticky scales but I find them grippy, as well as durable. I've got knives with G10 scales that show wear, scuffs, and scraps from a hard day at work. While the grips I had, showed no wear, going threw the same hard usage.
So now I can once again add a Griptillian too my teeney BM collection. As for the Mini grip, I replaced my Ritter mini with an HK 14210. While I liked the blade shape of the Ritter, I prefer the G10 scales on the HK, which allows a full four finger grip, plus the fact the HK has full liners giving it slightly more heft and IMO a better build quality.
Anyways great thread! I'll enjoy it even more when I have my 551 in my hands.

just ordered a mini w/ the D2 blade, but pondering which blade would better suit my need for an EDC... D2 or 154CM...thanks

what exactly is the difference in say...your "rittergrip" and the knife I just ordered out of cabelas? I've heard the term "rittergrip" but don't really know the diff. between say a 556

thanks for the input...any word on D2 compared to a 154CM for an every day cary? btw the D2 is coated so most of the issues with corrosion/stain resistance are out of the picture.

I have Benchmades in both, hard to go wrong with either.

Sign me up for the fan club. I have three and love them. Would like to get a full size and mini Ritter but the price point seems a little high for a grip.

I have been using my D2 grip a,ot lately and it has performed VERY well, and the edge is still nice and sharp...only problem I had was 1 or 2 kicro chips by the tip...but it was easily taken care of with a very light touch up on my sharpmaker...but I cut through all kind sof thgins with ym grip, I assume the microchips were from those very hard zip ties, I cut through about 2 dozen of them, and I could imagine thats what did it...

I own one grip, and feel very fortunate to have snagged one: the 552M2-600. This knife is one mean slicer, only takes a touch up on the sharpmaker fine stones every couple of months. Only have two issues with it: 1) Liners- wish they were full length 2) a bit bulky, takes up some pocket room. One thing I do not worry about too much with this knife- the clip is very secure. Think I'll carry it today :) BTW, I use a sharpmaker on all my knives for routine edge maintenance, works like a charm.

damn...gotta get a sharpmaker...anywhere online where you can find one for cheap?...or basically $70 anywhere I go?

I noticed they went to a round thumb hole, an improvement on that part, but why did they change to hollow grind? Or are they offering both still?

Only the models with thumb studs and the discontinued oval shaped thumb hole have the older grind, all of the new round thumb hole models are hollow ground, and will have "HG" in their model number.
