Benchmade griptilian thread!!!

Saving this for the Griptilian links in the first few posts

I love my 552 Ritter Grip :)

Here are some pics of a 707 with 558 (Mini Ritter). I find Mini Grips to be more practical than the 707. They open slightly easier, as the thumb studs are a little further out from the handle when the knife is closed, and the addition of a thumb ramp makes for a knife that feels more comfortable in use.

Sorry I can't let you have a shot showing the thickness, as those are old photos and I no longer have the 707.

Steven... thanks very much for the observations. I thought I would prefer the slimmer, lighter 707 for EDC with slacks, but if the knife suffers from design differences compared to the mini Gript, and costs $30 more, perhaps I'll go with the thicker mini Gript and save the $30.

These two knives are meant for different tasks and their respected designs reflect those requirements.
707 is good knife for office carry, when all you need it for is to open few envelopes and cut an occasional apple. It sports better steel then mini grip (unless we are talking about ritter grips)
Mini Grip is a better for long cutting sessions.
Both have a place in any collection ;)

Thanks, RxE. I can see differing utility. You know I want them both! ;) :D

Aren't both the 707 and the basic Mini Grips (556/555HG) 154CM steel?

I love my 555 but it is boring. It just does everything so well without any flash. I've learned to accept that boring is good.
Oh yea, my F150 with 219,086 miles on it is boring too.

My old beater Ritter Grip.

Just got my 556 grip today, about 3 hours ago to be exact. I have been fixing up the not so pretty factory edge, not perfect yet but getting there. I am not sure if it will replace my 710 as an ECD, but it will be a real close second place. Its still too new to post a picture yet so I will give it a few months of use first.

Bump with pics of how my grip looks after some bushcrafting and skills practicing. The blade looked a lot worse but most of the dirt etc was carried (rubbing in pocket) and used (carving) away:
