Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

Greg Krieger @deerrockknives recently finished up a couple for me. The smaller is a B&T and the larger one is one of his Skinner Dan models. They are nice thin stock (the B&T is .08" at 63 HRC in Magnacut and the Skinner Dan is .113" at 63.5 HRC in Cruwear) both are great slicers.

If you haven't seen Greg's work yet check out his thread of finished work. He makes some beautiful knives and when you get ahold of his knives you can tell he has lots of experience using them as well.

So far I've only used these in the kitchen and while grilling a couple times, but I look forward to putting them both to work in the field real soon.
Awesome handles! Love the "upsweep" on them.

Is "upsweep" a technical knife term? Made sense in my head!! 🤣

he's also a bike guy

It's CPM 4V at 63+ hardness (Peters' bladesports heat treatment). The finished blade was 27 oz, but with a dense stall mat rubber handle it came out to 33 oz. It's pretty hard to beat as an outlaw chopper. Bennie had fun chewing up some 2x4s.

I'm a big fan of the blade style, and the length. A bit lighter for working limbs in what's left of my little 1 acre forest would be ideal for the cleanup when it's finally safe to do so. (I have too many downed and leaning trees to spend much time under and around several.)
