I'm 37 and still wearing a leather belt I got when I was 16. Same hole too. Just a little less muscle and a little more fat. Still lean and mean. No sports and all work make for less conditioning than I used to have.![]()
I agree with everything you say Justin! I did not want to get into a "What is better knife argument" ! I love the Sasquatch and always will! No Large chopper is really practical, but if I was practical I would be driving a Prius and have solar energy! I have stated this before - Nathan's BC at a price of $525 is a "No Brainer" it is a brute that will provide years or a lifetime of faithful service! It will be lighter and allow for pro-longed chopping sessions! Nathan's work is outstanding and on a price-performance ratio is unbeatable IMO! That is why I have 12 or so of his knives and will continue to purchase themAgreed. But it also seems to wear the user out quick in videos. I don't expect Dan to use a BC to a greater effect than a Sasquatch. But I don't expect your average person to chop as well as Dan. Even Dan's friend using it who clearly has some instruction directly from Dan has trouble handling it. The thing is clearly a beast.
In my experience mass has limits. It pushes the envelope of an individuals strength and technique. Here more isn't always better.
That's why I was saying I think the average person would do better with the BC, not that the BC is the better Chopper of the two with regards to outright performace.
Personally I'd take an axe to fell a tree. Watching his friend land those wonky hits makes my wrists hurt.
JMHO!
Yeah, I hate it when my belt stretches out like that...
I'm sorry Justin, I hate to be the one to break that to you...
Thank you MOS! Congrats on the BC!

Thanks LorienI'd thought I had a Sasquatch coming my way, but I guess it wasn't meant to be
I'll enjoy it vicariously through you, lol!
Any time you put two knowledgable and experienced craftsman in the same room for a conversation, they will both walk away better. Thanks LorienJust got off the Phone with Dan, Great Guy! Wonder if some of the similarities with Nathan's work is just a coincidence
