Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

the Sams is only 30 IBUs - very drinkable, no bitter beer face. They have a nice summer sampler out now. My wife likes the Summer Ale and I get the rest.🍻
Didn’t have it in our town, tracked down the sampler when we were shopping in a town closer to St. Louis the other day. I’m 630 ft. above the recommended drinking elevation, but it IS cold and it still tastes great. Good call! 👍🍺

Should have never passed on GEC acrylics before. Really like it.

This evening, I enjoyed a sampler of a Highland single malt, and a very nice cigar, both given to me by my daughter for my birthday yesterday.... along with the back patio Buck, and the 83 Tascosa in dark brew....

Very nice! Happy Birthday Hornetguy! 🎉

Here's Vanilla Java Porter that's often in my regular rotation of beer for suppertime. I think it's pretty good and, more importantly to me, it's available year-round. The first photo is one of their old can design, which I think is supposed to represent a woman visiting a coffee house (from the "Java" part of the name). The second photo is the current can design, which I think is supposed to represent a woven bag of coffee beans.

Nice slimline trapper Gary, love the look of the patina. 👍 My wife loves Porters and Stouts. On the “Traverse City Triathlon” yesterday, she was drinking Porters at the first two stops, I tend to go for the Hefeweizens and lighter bodied Ales. I don’t usually go for super fruity stuff, but I had a really nice “Cherry Pie Hole” yesterday at Right Brain, and got to keep the glass. 😊👍7837D4E0-51EE-472D-B316-576C90928318.jpeg

Thanks, Todd. :) The slimline trapper is one of several pocket knives I keep in the kitchen to use for food prep, so it gets plenty of chances to work on its patina.

Sounds like my beer preferences are closer to those of your wife, rather than you. My favorites tend to be darker: porters, stouts, bocks, amber ales, Scotch ales, even lagers with some color such as Killian's Irish Red or Sam Adams Boston Lager. I also like the American versions of Oktoberfest beers, which tend to be more amber and less golden than the current German festbiers. Not really a wheat beer fan, nor do I care for fruity/hazy/hoppy brews. I usually keep some IPAs in the fridge, but probably drink at most one per week.
