Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

PBR was the first beer I ever tasted. I was given a sip by our next door neighbor once at a barbecue. It’s been my “go to” beer in the summer when it’s hot for a long time. Now it’s become cool to drink PBR, I like that, it’s a good beer, in my opinion. Some buddies and I bought a “99 pack” a few years ago. We went in the local liquor store and asked if they had it and the lady looked at us and said, “Why?” 😄👍View attachment 1634109
I’m on the left barely in the shot, the other guys are neighbors.
Some thing about your 1st....always remember it. I love some fancy beers but in the summer, nothing is quite refreshing than a Miller Lite. :)

I don't usually drink on weekdays. Especially not at noon but I'm on vacation all week so I figured what the heck. I ran some errands this morning and stumbled upon this sample bottle of Glenlivet while at the liquor store. A Scotch that I've been wanting to try.

It's pretty good but I have others that I like better. I wasn't even looking for Glenlivet today but I'm glad I was able to get a sample bottle.

I just tried Glenlivet at a wedding in July. I agree with your assessment. Good, but not my favorite. Of the ones I've tried, I like Oban and Glenmorangie pretty good and Balvenie also. I would like try Laphroaig again sometime. The one time I tried it it was peaty enough to differentiate it from others I've tried.

This one is good (I'm pretty much a scotch neophyte so FWIW) for an inexpensive single malt:

The new (to me) crown lifter got some exercise today at a birthday party....

Someone on here recommended Highland Park Magnus for a lightly smoky/peaty single malt...and they were spot on correct....it's my favorite inexpensive single malt...in the $40 range, and is excellent...

I found this thread back on page 4… has everyone been teetotaling this week? 😉😁

I picked this bottle up at Costco the other day. I’ve never tried any of their Kirkland brand spirits, but this one was intriguing (and inexpensive) enough that I figured why not. It’s not bad, but there are other whiskeys for the same price that I’d rather buy.

Barton 1792 makes some good stuff. I have a bottle of their single barrel and a bottle of Chestnut Farms Bottled in Bond. The Chestnut Farms is good but not as good as the single barrel, that one is one of my favorites.

My wife's uncle was a bondsman and normally goes with us on tours. It always interesting listening to him as we wonder around from distillery to distillery.
