Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Oh, I like what I like. The guys I play cards with used to drink Dewars and Johnny Walker. I thought they were both awful and remained a happy beer drinker. Then one of them brought a bottle of Laphroig. It tasted so completely different from the Dewars and JW that I was shocked they were all scotch. Given that background, I don't have much interest in blends although I'm sure there are some that are very good. I like exploring the single malts.

Closing out day 12 with the white bone 36.
- wheated bourbon...........well, if anything like as much as I enjoy my wheated beer, will need to seek some o' that out too.!

As is often the way, in death there is life...........and fortunately when the courier was at the door couple days ago, he brought me some fresh life.

Ashamedly grown rather fond of these cask whiskies - the courier is coming too often.

The other thing, most whisky bought from the store is around 37.5% ~ 40% alcohol...........these cask ones can be somewhat higher - this is a smidgin under 66%

Have a great weekend y'all 🥂 🍻

Got this one as an Xmas gift

- nice, Jack..........must try those too. Have recently enjoyed one of their new ones, 'Journey'.............going to save up for their 'Tide' - the palate and tasting notes of that one read right up my street…

Tito's is good stuff. When I visited New York City about ten years ago, I ventured into a liquor store near the hotel (in midtown Manhattan), Tito's is what I went for. Been drinking it off-and-on since it came out. One of the best vodkas.

A newish lady friend came over last weekend, bringing a fresh loaf of black rye, a couple of Eccles cakes and a liter of Tito’s. I told her, “stay as long as you want, come back whenever you want”. She was fascinated by the new SYkCO recently delivered.
