Great combo!Watching some hockey tonight. Wild Turkey 101 in the glass, a good cigar, and a vintage Case 35 1/2 on the table.View attachment 2060420
Bourbon or rye? Which brand? Looks good, regardless! The knife, too.
Bulleit Rye Old Fashioned, no sugar. This one also happened to be "smoked." Served in a glass box full of smoke, which actually imparted a pretty interesting flavor to the drink.Bourbon or rye? Which brand? Looks good, regardless! The knife, too.
Interesting. I like Bulleit bourbon, will have to try the rye. Never had an old-fashioned without sugar. I use a sugar cube and a couple of dashes of angostura bitters. Sometimes I dispense with the fruit.Bulleit Rye Old Fashioned, no sugar. This one also happened to be "smoked." Killer canoe, and that beer sounds like it might be right up my alley. Going to keep an eye out for that one. You’d be proud of me Gary, I’ve consumed way more Porters and stouts this year than I have in years.I picked up a "variety 12-pack" from Shiner when I got groceries last week. It contains 3 types of Shiner beer, 2 of which are new to me. But the third type of beer, Shiner Toasted Amber Lager, is one that I had for the first time almost a year ago in a different 12-pack of 3 kinds of Shiner. The Toasted Amber Lager has nothing about which I'd complain, but neither does it have any characteristics that make me unusually enthusiastic about it. Good for a lager, but not a great beer IMHO.

Somebody has to do it…might as well be you Mike! Two of my favorites. Both 10 years old. Doing a taste comparison while watching the Eagles and 49'ers. The difference in color surprised me. The Ardbeg is much paler than the Laphroaig.

Love the Laphroaig 10. It’s like a campfire in a cup. DeliciousTwo of my favorites. Both 10 years old. Doing a taste comparison while watching the Eagles and 49'ers. The difference in color surprised me. The Ardbeg is much paler than the Laphroaig.
