These new Coopers are nice. As is this new Italian gin. First time I’ve seen it for sale here in the States.
Since you insist
I had to use the screwdriver on the Climber to get the Nev-R-Dull open. The Albers lamb it there because its been close by since I got it :) The Talisker needs no explanation 😃

I like that Shawn’s gin and Mike’s gun oil come in the same packaging. 😁

17 year old Sazerac Rye is one of the three best whiskies I've ever had (and I've had all the Pappy's).
I haven't seen a bottle of Blanton's in person in over 15 years. These are pretty good VFMs.

Hmmm Bushmills Peaky Blinder potion looks like a marketing ploy...is it any good? Is it perhaps standard Bushy with a gimmicky label?.
4 Roses ..I had some last week..not the single barrel tho...not bad at all.
Our weather has been testy...hot cold coming into Spring...thought I try this tonight..

I, too, wondered about the Bushmills.... I saw that yesterday when I stopped by a "beverage establishment".... I like the regular Bushmills... this one is a higher octane... what, 91 proof? Something in that range... people with enquiring minds....

Now I have to find a bottle of the Sazerac.... I've heard good things about it... didn't realize they had a 17....

ooops.... cancel the search for that Sazerac. I saw the Sazerac 18.... WHEN/IF you can find it, is running about 1800-2000 American dollars. Just a touch out of my price range..

edit:..... I found some online for about $700..... still a little more than I'd want to pay.... by a factor of about, um... 7 🤣

I'm not sure if I remembered it wrong or if they changed the 17 to an 18 y.o., but that's the one. It is part of their Antique Collection which they release every fall, along with George T. Stagg, some old Eagle Rare and another rye. They used to be hard to get just because they made so little of it, but they were reasonably priced ($60-$75). Now all these limited release whiskies are ridiculous. Glad I had a chance at them when I did.

I think we were both right.... apparently, this whiskey is in high demand, and the year it was bottled is "important", regarding price. You likely had the 18yr old, bottled in 2017... hence the 17 year...
Those 2017 versions are pretty pricey.... the $2000 ones.. I found one 2017 for $700, apparently, a "bargain"....
You can buy 18yr olds bottled in 2023 for quite a bit less...

edit... I read a review of a 2023 bottle.... made me laugh out loud.... the flowery descriptions of all the flavors, and hints of flavors that start out, then are replaced by........ good grief... funny, pretentious stuff...

The Pappy Van Winkle bourbons made their rep when they were made at Stitzel-Weller distillery, which ended when Buffalo Trace took them over, I believe, in the late 1990s. Anything around today that is Pappy's is a shadow of its former self. I was fortunate to find a bottle of Pappy's 20 year old when on vacation in Phoenix in 2000, and was the real original Stitzel-Weller juice. No words can describe how good it was, and after nursing it for about 13 months I shed a tear when it was gone. I was drunk at the time, which explains the tears (I'm about half Irish!). 😢

I had a shot of Pappy maybe 10yr ago...in Wollongong at a firemans xmas do...couldn't believe they had it....up on the top shelf covered in dust...@35aud a shot very expensive. He asked if I wanted coke...Naturally I said no.The barkeep said " good because I wouldn't serve it if ya did". It was like the smoke out of Mark Twains corncob pipe...Only about 2 yr ago I came across it at Howlin Wolf whisky bar back in "The Gong"...$135.00 a shot...ffs....Im still on the 40 dollar a shot stuff...occasionally. And to be honest those were fine..
