Beware Docbart - he's Bad News

i'm following your lead, paul. good move. i've always beleived "never criticize thy neighbor until you've walked a mile in his moccasins" but it is reprehensible that this has not been settled by docbart. i guess i was lucky in the deal i had with him. this is a very unpleasant situation.

You might want to check with your Post Master about it!
Seems that,, at least the way I understand it is,,if the transactions were conducted through the mail,,it's mail fraud...

From my discussion w/ LE apparantly it needs to be deliberate or intent must be proven. Difficult in this instance since he has completed some transactions to others satisfaction.

I think at this point his silence speaks volumes w/ regards to desire to remedy or rectify the situation.

I'm surfing the other forums vigilantly looking so that others will not suffer from this clown.

BladeForums has interveined and enforced sanctions whereby he cannot post or trade on BF. I also have notified KnifeForums.
Unfortunately He uses the Name "Doc Bartlett"
which is most probably a AKA alias.
He also used a P.O. Box as address. I have done what I can w/o becoming overly consumed w/ this clown's game.

Hopefully this individual didn't rip you off on a Emerson Custom as I've considered individuals posting in that forum as "brothers" or of course as Les calls us the "usual suspects". I'd like this individuals e-mail address and snail mail address as I would be delighted to at least drop him a line to let him know how disapointed I personally am with his actions in his dealings with any bladeforums member.
 
From the emails I have been forwarded and have received directly from the man himself, DocBart is of the mindset that "I'll pay them whenever I feel like it, and if they don't like it - tough"

As such, his posting priviledges here have been revoked - so don't look for him to make any counterclaims under that alias.

I would highly suggest that the buyer beware as well as he is claiming to still be trading on the forums.

Just in case some of the facts on this guy have been forgotten:

He promised me repayment three times, never paid.
He sent me a curseword filled nastygram because I had the temerity to reveal his perfidy to the other forumites.
He posted his own email address in his forum posts, so no one is revealing "secrets" in merely re-iterating it here.
He listed Victoria, Texas as his hometown on his forum profile.

This guy ripped off two forumites without public explanation or apology, and privately excoriated both! It is my opinion that if you do business with him from offline emails, you have no one to blame but yourself if he treats you in a similar fashion.
 
Just received email from Doc Bart. I may post it.
He's now threatening w/ a Slander Law suit if you can believe it.
Additionally, claiming to be trading on the BladeForums. I'm assuming a different moniker.
It's never ceases to amaze me how people will try to create a differnt spin or twist.
They will convolute, prevaricate, obfuscate
and ? to deny accountability for their actions in life.
Honestly, the money is not the issue. I will not go broke over $250.00. Those who know me know this to be true.

This is not a personal thing and never was.
This is about what's right and treating people with mutuality of consideration. As well as Honoring your word and committment.
Nothing more. Never was.

Ya Know it's kinda of funny when someone accuses you of a slander campaign. For disclosing their Email address and Snail Mail address when it was a matter of public record when they had their posting priviledges approximetly 1.5 mos. ago.
I'm trying really hard to understand that if someone wanted too, they could access the
archives from Feb. 2000 for email address etc themselves. since we all agreed to the terms and conditions of BF's
Where's the slander ?
Let's just stick to the facts and issues.
I will Honor Mr. Doc Bart when he treats me w/ integrity and pays me in full. If not, no problem, my life continues and functions w/ Honor, integrity and success.
There is ALWAYS MIGHT where there is RIGHT !

I only know what I've read in the threads on this "Doc Bart" individual and I'm seein' a lack of the "operative words" on Doc Bart's part!

What a POS!! To say the least.....

I only hope that Tamishigiri and JBravo get lucky and get their rewards!

Tamishigiri, please post his snail mail address or e-mail it to me. At this point, he could be selling $1 decorated Sebenza's and I wouldn't be interested. In fact, give me as much info as possible. I never want to deal with this guy, ever.

I recently had an experience that may prove useful in this situation. What I would do is this:

1) Contact the State Attourney General Office for that state and request complaint forms.

2) Contact local PD/LE ask them if they have an investigative unit, offer it to them.

3) Contact the system admin at the email address, let them know there may be criminal activity occuring. Ask them for their contact person to be put on your complaint forms.

4) Contact Better Business Bureau to see if they have a file on them.

5) Contact the City's Chamber of Commerce to see if this is a licensed business.

6) Ask if anyone on the forum has any piece of paper from this person, check, letterhead, etc. that can be used to contact their bank, etc.

7) Call the Clerk of Courts for the country they are in and see if they can do a search for you concerning legal filings, lawsuits, etc. Sometimes you can do this over the web.

if enough of us write letters to the authorities complaining about his behavior, he might pay up. If he is really a doctor we coould also send a few hundred letters to the medical authorities where he practices.
