I edited this post due to james getting my knife back to me and everything is 100% as I ask him to do it,he took awhile longer than I wanted, but all is as order.I'm ashamed to have even posted in this mess

This POS rants and raves about the quality of his work and how "everyone" is happy. Funny, I have NEVER seen one post with a photo saying what a great job he did. Sh*t, even DARKMAN has never posted a photo himself.

Dear consumer:
I have screwed some people and they became quite angry with me. Then I lied in order to avoid the heat that I knew was in store for me when this information became public knowledge.
As it is now public knowledge that I lie and cheat people and there are very few, if any, who can comment on the quality of my work, I am now OUT OF BUSINESS.
Since it is impossible for me to tell who will bitch and complain after I have put the screws to them, I simply have decided to close my business. If I only had a crystal ball to tell me prior to screwing someone just how loud they would complain, I could continue in business. But as I have no crystal Ball, I must presume that all of the public will complain, and do so boldly and loudly, after I have porked them.
If I have a knife that belongs to you I will return it in the usual fashion I always do. Expect your knife to leave my shop in disrepair at some point in the future when I can find the box I put it in which is somewhere on my desk. Please do not complain if you do not receive your knife or the work has not been completed because this is July and I am out of business.

What a clown. Once again blaming others instead of putting the blame for his problems where it belongs, on his own shoulders.

Being out of business is exactly what this guy deserves.
 
I sent one slipjoint folder to James, to be cleaned up, refurbished, blade polished, and replace some smooth bone handle slabs. He did all of it to my satisfaction.

He kept the knife longer than originally expected--a total of about three months, I think. I wasn't in a rush to get the knife back, and never asked when it would be ready. He checked in with me every 2-3 weeks to let me know what he had done and what he was waiting on to do more, such as ordering the bone, etc. His price was reasonable.

I'm not posting this to re-start the debate--just a straight forward report of my only first-hand experience with him.

Darkman.. if you remember I sent you a tanto bladed 80's Japanese import. I also paid you in advance to change the scales to Mother of Pearl.. months have gone by and I basically came to grips that I would never get it back.

I tried to defend you back in the day when you first appeared in the Balisong forum cause I thought you were a nice and friendly guy. So much for that...
 
James also has one of my knives, I am being patient and hopeful. I'm not very worried about it because I WILL GET MY KNIFE BACK. He is only 410 miles from my house. I could be there and back in 12 hours.
 
when i started doing custom work about 2 years ago..i had only planned to do an occasional piece.. i did not expect the just
huge amount of work that would come my way.. some weeks there were
over 100 jobs waiting for me to get to them..people would just send stuff..and tell me what they wanted.. i had no control over that..
but i tried to get to everyone..alot of times..i worked 7 days a week, there were always the issues of juggling incoming and expected
materials..or a new piece of eqp needed..or parts problems..waiting
on parts.. alot of times..i would have more of my family money
out on ordered matierials and parts that it was hard to pay bills a couple of times.. there was the usually problems with a mislabeled address or some times the postoffice misrouted stuff because of
an unreadable number or something.. PLEASE..ASK MR PUMA COLLLECTOR..
I THINK HIS ADDRESS IS AT PUMAONLY@AOL.COM He sent me a puma to
redo.. i sent it back finished.. in the interem.. the postoffice had juggled the zip codes in his area (very rural) and his puma white hunter went to the mail room of a manufactoring company.. i spent 3 days tracking it down with the post master, we found it..readdressed it and got it to mr puma.. i have never lost any customers knife..

when the tritium was installed..it apparently lost its seal..and
became inactive..they are pressed into the chamber milled out of the button with a hydraulic press.(they are in a steel capsule) .sometimes that happens.. when i had gotten you package back..and put your knife on my desk untill i heard from you..the faulty tritium was noticed.. to not leave you with a dumb lookin knife that had a hole an no light coming out of it.. i gave you a brand new button for your knife...plus..i sent the faulty one along..with a note.. there was nothing untoward about that.. i told you i was out of tritiums.. their is a gentelman named DOUG SMITH who i do work for on a constant basis..he buys tritium installs from me at the rate of about
10 per month.. i believe he is in the army or special forces or
something similar.. i have done a huge number of other types of professional modifications for him.. he got my last tritium.. i would be happy to ask him to come here and tell you that what ive told you
is 100% true..

now.. i just got my new order of trituims in..
and as i told you in the note.. i would send you one..and you could
have someone of your liking ( id do it free of charge) replace it
with the one that was faulty. YOU AGIAN CONVINETLY FORGOT TO
MENTION THAT I WAS SENDING YOU A REPLACEMENT WHEN IT ARRIVED..



I HAVE ALWAYS tried to do good work.. and i have a great personal
desire to see every customer i help happy.. but like i said im just
human..i make mistakes occasionaly , and you have no idea what its like to be doing someones knife...and think your almost done..its looking great.. and then some unforseen thing happens..maby a belt
or polishing buff breaks and grabs the piece and beats it around the
machine for about a hundred times..its what we call an accident..they happen..the only thing a guy can do is tell the customer im sorry..
and replace their knife.. I WOULD REPLACE ANY CUSTOMERS KNIFE I DAMAGED....it would the proper and gentelmanly thing to do..

KENS ISSUE..

KEN AND Brian commisioned me to do work , at the time the model
we were going to work on was new.. no one had worked on them yet..
i took on the job.. the first thing that became apparent was that
we were going to need replacement parts..as some had to be destroyed
to get the knife apart..it was just made that way.. so we had to wait
to get new parts from microtech.. finally they came.. the work proceeded, brian gordon ..sucker4knifes.. got his finished by me
and delivered..it was beatifull he like it very much..

next on to finishing kens.. it went together fine..but a small
fuctional problem arose.. as kens was very tight to begin with ..
the additional coating made it stick when opening.. so.. i emailed ken
on sunday..told him that i needed about 2 weeks to redo something
to get it to function right.. if he felt he couldnt wait 2 weeks
just let me know , and I WOULD BUY THE KNIFE FROM HIM.. he said call
him , so i did..we had a nice chat.. i enjoyed talkin to him greatly..
we agreed to go ahead with the little extra work.. then..next morning
i get this email ACCUSING ME OF BEING A LIAR AND NEVER DOING THE WORK,
I WAS PRETTY SHOCKED.. THEN PRETTY DAM MAD... I sent ken
DIGITAL PHOTOS OF HIS KNIFE AND THE WORK THAT WAS DONE..JUST AS HE
WANTED.. IT WAS A VERY NICE LOOKING KNIFE..

FINALLY..
I GOT AN APOLOGY BUT BY THEN I HAD SENT THE KNIFE AND THE ORIGINAL FEE BACK AS HE HAD DEMANDED THINKING I WAS A LIAR FROM THE
BULLSHIT HE READ ON THIS FORUM..
HE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT IT WAS JUST THAT..BULLSHIT .. I FEEL VERY BAD THAT KEN IS
GETTING HIS KNIFE BACK..IT HAS A FUNCTIONAL ISSUE THAT WE ALREADY
HAVE DISCUSSED.. AND IT NEEDS TO BE RE-COATED.. AS AFTER HE DIRECTED
ME TO PROCEED WITH THE REPAIRS.. I BEGAN SHAPRNEING IT IN ANTICIAPATION OF RECOATING IT AFTER THE MINOR REPAIR WAS DONE..
SO NOW.. KEN IS GETTING A KNIFE BACK THAT WONT FUNCTON CORRECTLY
AND ISNT VISUALLY PERFECT.. AND I DONT FEEL RIGHT ABOUT THAT AT ALL,
I DONT WANT KEN TO BE IN THAT POSTION.. I DONT LIKE SENDING OUT
ANYTHING THAT ISNT PERFECT.. IF ANYONE DOESNT LIKE WHAT I DO..
OR A KNIFE WERE TO GET DAMAGED OR LOST.. I WOULD HAPPILY PAY MY
CUSTOMER TO REPLACE IT.. THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY WARRENTY.. AND I STAND BEHIND IT

This is just a side question, James - How exactly do you decide to capitalize words? I mean, is it random, do you do every third sentence lowercase, what? Do you have a system?

You may be spending the money but you do have my knife.:confused: It took enough guts to send you the knife never mind pay you a year in advance. How many hundereds was I going to pay you? And you are complaing about having to spend money. I spend money to make money all the time. That's how it works. This should not even be an issue here.:barf: Send me a picture as you have promised for months, it is the least you can do. You have a digital camera, it should only take a minute.
James, this is the internet. People need a little more than someones word.
If this is how you are going to react over my comment, than I don't know what else to say. Do whatever you want.

dam james LOVE THOSE CAPS,when the ludt was returned there was a note that trit dots were defective but there was no mention of you sending a replacement.only that you had to order more.i do expect the button with a trit dot in it that works or the cold steel voyager with cold steel sheath that i sent you for the work.your explanition sounds good but you seem to leave out things
