nirvanero (a.k.a Roberto F. Fernandez) purchased my S90V Mili(nib)
paid, asked me to ship it UPS to Spain. I did all he asked. Now he's trying to pull a fast one on me. Claiming that I overcharged him for shipping almost $30 and claiming that the Milli is not NIB ( that it's been used, carried and sharpened as well as the rust on the blade). He is trying to blackmail me into paying him a $120 or he will start something up here and with PayPal. I'm not even gonna answer his email, cause I'm so outraged by this blatant attempt of a shakedown...
I'll only say one thing - if he wants his money back - no problem - send me my knife back

I just wrote to him demanding my knife back in the condition it was sent to him. Then he'll get his money back(-shipping costs)
I'll ignore any of his email and just wait for knife to arrive. Though I'm not gonna hold my breath.......

Bad news. Paypal will almost always side with the person filing the complaint. They will hold the funds and inievitably he will recieve a refund. It has happened to me and it sucks.

I would never do an international transaction with a new member with no established track record on this forum. That should have set off some warning bells, especially with an experienced bladeforums trader like yourself.

I agree that Paypal will probably side with him but the only thing I would agree to do is refund the money once you receive it back in good shape. I don't even know if that is an option with paypal. You probably should have insisted on the gift option from him just to cover your butt from an incident like this. With your extensive positive i-trader track record visible to him if he had refused to do that that would have been another warning sign.

Hope you can work this out without getting screwed out of both the money and the knife.

The S90V Military seems to be cursed these days.

nirvanero, I see your reading this, be fair, return the knife, and you will get a refund. Both of you might be out a litte $ but it isnt worth the headache.

Happy Holidays.

*Would also be nice to see why you would insist on $120 back, I would LOVE to see pics of the S90V Military. $120 can buy a NIB S30V version.

Woh. Back up. If someone refused to violate Paypal's rules, and in the process strip themselves completely of any protection, that is a warning sign? I disagree.

ETA: I want to go a little farther with this line of thought. If I had already agreed to buy an item, and then the seller "insisted" I use the gift option (and thereby rid myself of any protection), that would set off -my- warning bells.

I was cautious. I took steps to avoid been scammed. Just wondering if there is a new way to screw through PP has been discovered.

For all those who are believeing him with eyes closed, I wll post photos of his "NIB Military S90V". I've made deals with other member on this forum, but this Igor just tried to sell a carried and used Military for $300. I will post photos and you'll see waht I'm talking about. I love Spydercos and don't have the slightest intention to fool anybody. This was the only Military I missed in my collection and I don't want to mess with anybody, but this Igor is not being honest with me. The first I noticed is that his package got stopped because the papers were missing... he told me shipping with UPS express was $95 and when I get my invoice I see $68.3...

I know it's very easy looking a lier for a newbie in this forum, but this is the last mail I sent to Igor:

"First of all, I'm going to send the photos to BladeForum and talk with admins... let people know who's the "lier". I've never seen a re-sharpened NIB blade, nor anyone I know. The blade has little rust spots in he back of the blade, wear on the clip and a defect on CF handles. Even liner lock is in the centre of the blade. I have lots of Military, I know a little about this and maybe you will when you see these macro photos.

I have invoice from UPS and the shipping is not $95... who's the lier?

The funniest part is that you want me to send you a NIB knife which wasn't NIB when you sent it... trying to steal more money? Forget about it, at least I'll prevent someone getting fooled by you.

Thanks for the NOT NIB, I'll take care of it better than you."

I can resend the whole conversation to anyone interesting in it, as I wrote that before Igor rushed to this forum to save his honour. The Military is not NIB, and if I get it is because Igor wants me to return a NIB blade... that sounds stealing to me. I don't trust him no more, and maybe you don't trust me because nobody knows me here, I understand it as I have no friends here.

It's curious because I had some words with other member when I told him to make sure the knife I was buying from him was NIB, and he sent me a link to his "status" in this forum. It seems Igor don't have any fooled customer and I'm the first one, so what I can say... just the same he says of me: beware of Igor.

What you have written is the absolute, total, and as far as I can tell, universal rule of PayPal. The buyer always wins.
rust on the blade

Let's see, how does that work with S90V again??? :thumbdn:

Here is the UPS receipt. I also paid $5 for the box.
I don't know what pics he'll post. Will they be pics of other knife?
Like I said - I get my knife back in the condition I sent - he gets $300.

Maybe people thinks I'm after trading a used for a carried one... that's not the case because the only thing I wanted (and paid for) was a NIB Military S90V. I told him to refund me $120 (the knife was $300 and $95 of UPS shipping, talking of canadian dollars) because of not being NIB and the shipping is $68.3 in my invoice... Just seemed fair to me because it's a shame see such a dirty $300 knife when you open the box.

This is all weird and sad because this is the first time someone acted like this, I've been always lucky to find great people and old Spydercos for my collection. I mostly buy on Knifeworks and people is superb, NEVER had a problem, that's the reason I told two members of this forum who didn't want to ship Europe to send their packages to Knifeworks.

I will post photos later and you see what I mean... I can even send original files in case someone thinks they're not true.

Of course, I'm posting photos of other dirty and re-sharpened Military S90V I had... Is just I like the risk and was so bored that I chose to put it to someone in Canada hoping I was getting a NIB...

I could say the same: I send that knife to you but maybe you say it's not the same... and the next time I bet I get a Delica from Canada...

The first interesting thing: shipping is $85, not $95. I don't know why it's $68.3 in my invoice (photos incoming)... good start.

Why is the $5 box not on the receipt? As it stands, that's $85 for shipping.

I do want to be fair, I don't want to fool anybody. But I just want a Military S90V which is IMPOSSIBLE for me to find elsewhere, that's why I asked for $120 (I paid $395). I don't trust Igor because if I return his knife maybe he says is not the same... and this would last forever. I just want everybody to know how he lied to me and then tell everybody i'm a liar... that's incredible. I don't know if fou understand the situation.

By the way, I need an admin allow me posting photos here.

Until you produce hard evidence what you say doesnt have alot of weight to it. I have dealt with Igor a number of times with never an issue, and then you open up a second retaliatory thread which doesnt help your cause much. Return the knife in its original condition and you should have no problems, as he has already offered your money back upon receipt of the knife he sold to you. And yes paypal will require you to return the knife with tracking, before issuing any kind of refund, should you try to file a claim. Bottom line to me is that something smells fishy in Spain.
