Beware of nirvanero

Were any pictures provided prior to sale?

He posted two photos, unfortunately it's hard to see a re-sharpened blade unless you look for the right angle and shoot a macro. Rust spots were on the back of the blade so I didn't see them... both photos were here:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=791207&highlight=s90v

Anyway, if someone tells me it's a NIB knife I trust him or ask him to make sure it has no defects, as I did with LorenzoL and bigmark408. It's funny because bigmark408 got a little angry about this question and I had to explain what I meant (a NIB knife may have some defect).

I also looked for people complaining about this guy and didn't find anyone, so I felt pretty confindent... till I opened the bade.

Didn't you mention there was wear on the clip, and a defect in the CF scales? I'd really like to see those pictures, also. The "clip wear" picture will be pretty damning, if you can provide it.

Amazing! Here's a PAYING member, with 55+ positive itrader feedbacks, and a couple of you are on him as if he is the second coming of John Dillinger. What does a person have to do here, hurry off to Paypal and send an unknown quantity $300 dollars just cause someone wants it. Igor promised the knife could be returned in original condition for a refund period, end of story. So now our esteemed colleague from Spain has to do his part and ship it back, whats he scared of???? Paypal will not issue a refund until the buyer ships the knife back with tracking and confirmation that it arrived period. So nirvanero you need to stop demanding and start doing, Igor will not just send $120 or else...who would? Oh.. nirvanero I would stand up for any member, not only Canadians as you imply, with an excellent track record here..even someone from Spain

Whats he worried about? Well, if it were me, Id be worried about on losing more than $90+ that I shouldnt have to be out. The buyers knife wasnt as advertised, therefore he should not be out ANY $, any, at all. The seller said he wouldnt get the shipping refund, you think thats fair?

so because nirvanero is new and not a paying member he is automatically at fault? Sorry, but in my book the knife in the pics is not NIB. Your tone is sarcastic and antagonistic and doesn't help things. Your Canadian friend had a similar experience not too long ago where he was on the recieving end. More than one upstanding paying member with a lot of good feedback has crashed and burned around here. It's nothing new.

ETA: Igor, you were in this same situation in Roberto's place not too long ago. What would you have expected if you paid for say, a sharpening system and it showed up in a condition which you did not find satisfactory? I personally think that you sent a knife which to you might be NIB but to a collector trying to fill a gap in his collection, that is used. nirvanero was looking for flawless, mint, New In Box condition. He didn't get it. The knife does not meet his standards and he wants a partial or whole refund. Pretty simple in my book.

Roberto, I think that considering what you paid for that Millie you have every right to be picky. Heck, for that price I would have sold you mine. Spending that much on shipping was a mistake, though.

That's not the problem, he says he sold me a NIB knife and wants me to send him a NIB knife. The knife is the one in photos. OK, this paying member wants to add $5 or $10 of shipping costs because $385 is not enough for him? OK, let's do that. The blade has rust spots and the clip seems a little wearing? OK, never mind. The CF handles has a little defect? Never mind, I love this knife...

But I thought he sold me a NIB (I'm starting hating this word) and the blade is re-sharpened! Should I risk again my money (and lose even more) sending it to him and waiting for his answer? Why this paying member doesn't pay the shipping costs and just keep saying he'll pay $300 when getting the knife "in the same conditions he sent it"?

He still didn't say a word about the photos... but it seems to be taboo for you both, and I don't care if you're canadian or from Toledo by the way.

What I don't get is that you were just in this very same situation and you made it pretty clear that if you were not satisfied you should get your money back. That only works when it is you who isn't satisfied?

There are only 2 ways to handle this situation. nirvanero deserves a partial refund because the knife is not as described or have him return your knife and then give him a full refund.

I'm uploading them in "my thread".

Lorenzo: now don't tell me you had sold yours for that price... I'm gonna hate you... :)

Either my eyes are really failing me or there are no pics of the knife anymore.

That was my way of saying that you way overpaid for that Millie, even if it had been NIB.

Yes, it was my mistake. I was looking for that knife too long and thought it was OK once in my hand. Igor lied saying it was NIB, but what I really didn't like was him starting this thread trying to put the forum on his side just because nobody knows me.

Now I know he was in my situation before and asked the same now I'm asking for... that's really disgusting.

I'm not taking sides because I too don't think that's a new knife but isn't that what you're trying to do also?

Just asking.

Benya started this thread about nirvanero two hours before nirvanero started his own thread. To me it is clear that Benya tried to bully a new member by using his standing as an established member of this forum.
What is more telling to me is that Benya has not yet commented on those pictures showing a used knife. If that knife was not the same one he shipped to Spain, I bet you he would have voiced his outrage by now.

After looking at the photbucket link posted ny Nirvanero I do have to agree that looking at the picture of the clip it does appear to have been carried at some point due to the chipping along the painted edges:

http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...nt%3Ds90_4.jpg

The rest of the knife looks to be in pretty good shape and I don't think that the blade has been sharpened. Looks like a typical spyderco factory edge to me from the many I have seen. The tiny rust spots are so minor I will bet that they will wipe off with an oil soaked rag and you will not be able to tell they were ever there.

I do think that Nirvanero is entitled to a partial refund because of the fact you insisted on NIB condition and that knife does not appear to be in NIB condition. If that is what you both think would be fair and the main thing for you both is to agree on the amount to make it fair. If no partial refund is agreed upon then the knife should be returned for a full refund since it apparently was not in the represented condition.

The best for both parties is to agree on an amount you both can live with for the settlement.

You could see it that way, but it's the same in every situation two people have different interests. I've just told my version and upload photos. He only says that I "blackmailed him"... blackmailing for what? If he's right then it's not blackmailing. If he's wrong it's not blackmailing neither... I'm asking for what I deserve, just the way he did before me.

I'm really not looking for making him the bad guy. I just wanna pay for a used knife or get my $395 back. I don't care about him selling knifes to other people.

Apparently Benya has the habit of selling used stuff as new and then bullying new members. Check the other thread.
