Everybody has a story. Some of them are true and some of them are not. Whatever the story, I hope a payment plan can be worked out. "I'll pay you someday" is not a payment plan. "I'll pay you when I get rich ... when I feel like it ... when I get around to it ..." If that's the best you can do, the best I can do is to say I'll only ban you from Bladeforums until that someday comes. If you're so broke you can't even start paying him a little at a time you're too broke to be here.

For one thing, this had nothing to do with Bladeforums. This wasn't a sale that had anything to do with the for sale areas here; it happened when he contacted me after I canceled an eBay auction. I'm not going to get into explaining all this, suffice to say that I told him until the tourists start rolling into town for the summer season I'm dead broke. He started this round of demands in mid-May in the middle of an workless 8 week period. I understand him expecting to be re-payed for not receiving his knife he paid for, but now he's at the end of a long line of debts I owe. I hope this is something none of you here judging this ever have to face. I regret that I couldn't send him cash for the knife that was lost in the mail at the beginning of the fall. My knee surgery in October took precedence; his lost knife was not something I could have anticipated. I was selling knives to deal with the upcoming round of medical bills I would have; I wasn't making money but selling them even for cash. Regrettably I have been behind in deeper than one should ever get after the horrific ski season we had. In short I no sooner got ahead of my own medical bills then my dog began a long series of medical expenses. I literally don't have an extra nickel for a cup of coffee. I haven't been interested in the pissing match Peter has been trying to engage me in, and inflame him further as I understand his frustration. I'll deal with this when I can like I said I would. Right now I haven't received a paycheck since mid April. I'm working again; I'll deal with this when i can.

What about the insurance he said he paid for? Did you just take the extra funds and put them in your pocket? If so, that's pretty sorry, and you deserve being banned, even after he's been repaid. :thumbdn:

Why's that Cougar? Cuz you feel like it, or cuz I've violated a forum rule? Just curious? This had nothing to do with forum activity, we just both happen to be members here. I never listed this knife for sale here; he just decided to vent about it here. Please explain what forum rules you'd like to enforce against me.

Not that it matters but since some people feel the need to make this there business I should also clarify that he didn't pay extra for insurance; it was $242 shipped and the extra $8 dollars was the paypal fees.

It was shipped from XXXXXXX, but the return address is for XXXXXXX. I went down to the office I shipped it from, and the supervisor told me that 2 weeks for a 1st class package was "too soon to push the panic button". He said it will most likely show up eventually, but that the automated system they use that reads handwritten zip codes sends things all over the place all the time. I never heard of this sort of thing, myself.

I'm so sorry that this has become such a hassle. I always ship these things Priority, but I had my wife do this one cuz I've been so busy with the tourists that come to town this time of year, and I didn't specify for her what to do. Unfortunately it didn't have insurance or delivery confirmation like I thought, so if this doesn't make it to you shortly I'll have to just eat it and refund your money out of pocket. They told me it would most likely show up to you, or get returned to me. I will be anxious to have either happen. He told me to come back if 30 days passes, which seemed extreme to me, but he said it probably went somewhere else first, and is making its way around to Quincy. Again I'm really sorry. I messed up on my end not getting a tracking number put on it, and I'm really sorry. I'll make sure this is taken care of one way or another though. I promise. Thanks Peter for your patience and understanding.

i'm sure you wouldn't be saying "shit happens" if it were your $250...and 8 months had passed with neither a refund or a replacement blade.....

you make it sound like the buyer's fault that the knife was lost in transit.....

it was str8edge who falied to purchase insurance which would've cost at most $10......:thumbdn:

Yup, whatever you steal elsewhere is none of our business, and it looks like whatever goes on here at Bladeforums is going to be none of your business because you're not going to be a member here much longer....

Look up at the top of your screen....

"FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! This is your area to tell about your experiences (Good or Bad) with dealers, sellers, and individuals you've bought, sold, and traded with."

Does it say "only on Bladeforums"?

We list feedbacks for Brick or Click retailers on here everyday.

Str8Edg, I don't understand why you think that someone else should lend you the money to pay your bills on a "I'll pay it back when I am able." basis. Especially since the other person was never given a choice about giving you that loan. Why should this other person be forced to pay for your misfortune?

You leave me with the impression that you would do this again if you were in the same situation.

a few things i am having a problem with.....it has been established that you have been hurting for cash for the last 8 months...correct??? because if you had any cash within the last 8 months, you would've payed peter back......

but you have other responsibilities, and paying peter back is low on your list of priorities....like you said.....

so i figure more important priorities would include putting food on the table, utility bills, medical bills, etc....correct????

I'm looking for a CG FBM in ANY condition. Not really looking for an FFBM. I have a stripping project I have in mind, so I don't need a perdy one. I'm limited on funds, so I figure I'll track down a user to save a little $$$. Thanks.

What about the possibility of small claims court. Maybe you could get a proxy from the forums thats in the area to look into it. You are already out a lot of money but I would PP someone $10.00 to help out. Having had a small business myself that went under because people just wouldnt pay I can sympathize. Get on the right forum and you might even arrange a PERSONAL visit. :grumpy::grumpy:

good point new:thumbup:. i agree that paying back the money should be priority 1 on the list. i never ship a knife without insurance either, its a no brainer. the last knife i shipped had $500. insurance and only cost me less than $2.

This isn't looking too good for you at all straightedge.

I know exactly how it feels when your in debt up to your ears, it truly sucks..................................BUT this all began in August of 2007, I find it hard to believe you could not work out some sort of a payment plan over the last 10 months.

Just pay the man, you owe him and move on.

Agreed..... pay up... I have had a 2 knives lost in the post.. But both with DC #'s.....
I would refund the guy.... But i have not asked for my money back on both of the occasions where my knife was lost... But they were cheap... So i did not mind..... If the buyer specifically says they don't want to pay insurance... Then it would be their fault....
Just take care of your shit... So this works out for you..... Str8
