I wonder if the Barlow could have two main blades: clip or spear and sheepsfoot.
I didn't know that. I should spend more time there.Might be too expensive. CK has one available with clip and wharnecliff blades; cheapest option is $160+.
I voted for the Swayback Wharncliffe and the Barlow, although I would much prefer the Swayback. I think a nice natural wood or jigged bone would be fantastic.
I hope the top two or three front-runners get a separate poll... one vote for each member.
And terrify you. That should scare you John!
I'd be very happy with either of thoseI have had every variant of the Euro Barlow (with regards to blade shapes) pass through my hands and my favorites are the Shuffler and the Warhorse. I traded away my Shuffler to a buddy (see above ) and have not replaced it yet - mostly because I vastly prefer the Rams Horn on these knives and I haven't been able to find one since.
The Warhorse is an exceptional knife with a lot of cutting power packed into a nice tidy package. It's a no-nonsense knife and one that provides a worry and hassle free experience when working hard or hardly working - depending on one's interpretation...
Not to further over complicate this, but one of the top 2 is actually 3 options in itself. So a top 4 runoff is really just the top 2!Maybe now that some mock-ups have been shown and people already voted, there could be a second round of voting of the top four with only one vote allowed?
Not trying to over complicate or bog things down though.
