Big EDC Folder Recomendations.

Keep tbem coming.
Cold Steel Holdout One ? (like a six in blade)
This one is CTS-XHP
Out of production.
The exchange !?
Monster length but carries staggeringly well if you have deep pockets. It fits in all my work pants .
Here it is in my pocket with the clip removed.

Here it is for size comparison with a hot dog bun (these are all old photos for other topics).

I think the ergos on the millie are superb
It's a great knife.
It's big, it's flat, it fits in one's pocket.
the design really lends itself well to a winter knife as it is amazing with gloves on.
No question about that !

I prefer the ergos of a handle like the Ti Lite IV. Same blade length.
Takes some grinding though to turn it into a knife.
PS: I keep the clip off my Ti Lite but it sucks in the pocket (very thick round handle) (in use though it is :thumbsup::thumbsup:) . . . I carry it in an ammo belt pouch.

OP - after owning quite a few big folders and still own most of them (ZT 0561, 0200, 0452, Benchmade Crooked river, 710, 810, Cold Steel Espada Lg, Recon 1, Talwar), I have found none of them is better than Spyderco Military (a couple of them are close), everything considered. I know you are a Millie fan. You can try out different big folders but I suspect in the end you will go full circle back to Spyderco Military.

I apologize in advance if this has already been mentioned, but I was too lazy to read through all four pages. But one of my favorite 4", non-flipper, non-bearing knives right now is my ZT 0850. Light weight (for it's size), super smooth, great lockup, great looking (subjective, I know), and quality materials.

Can be "flicked" open as fast as any flipper if so inclined. Some have dogged on the supposed "revolver theme", but I think it just looks classy. The large thumb studs give great traction. And can even lock on pocket giving a smooth Emerson-esque "wave opening" with just a little practice.

I'm a give it two thumbs up!

Yep , you're prob right. Just thought I'd be a little adventurous and see what else is out there.

Is that last one a CS Recon and is that a spear point bladed model? I didn't realize it was that large. Nice knife I like it looks and size.

Sure is, its the new satin blade version. Probably one of my favourite knives ever. Pound for pound you cannot beat it. Big and strong but actually cuts and has good geometry.

My favourite big and heavy duty knives (that I own) are the Cold Steel Recon, Spyderco GB2 and ZT0620. All are beasts and under $200.

The large Crooked River is a beautiful knife that is next on my list.

Honerable mention is the Endura. Not as overbuilt as the above, but a damned good knife for the $$$.

The 4Max is a beast, but there have been a few less than stellar reviews on BF recently. Some QC issues.

My favorite 4 inch blades that currently get carried the most are
1.Recon1
2.Military
3.Holdout2.
