Bikers post here.

I avoided a problem today using the advice given to me here. Assumed the person turning left from a driveway on my right could not see me. He pulled out in front of me but I had already slowed down anticipating the situation. He looked pretty alarmed when he realized what he'd done.

"And I alone survive to tell the tale."

EXCELLENT! Way to go brother! Anticipate, plan, react.

Pretty much sums up the 2015 Summer riding season to date. :D

Lol - pretty much! I'm still riding but getting soaked pretty often.

Good quality gear, that isn't necessarily stylish, will keep you dry. I ride in Aerostich gear. Their Roadcrafter jacket and AD1 pants in the warmer season, and a larger sized Darien jacket that I can put layers underneath for cold seasons.

Last weekend had me riding through a heavy downpour for 2 hours, and light rain for another 3. I stayed dry, despite riding a "naked" bike. My friend was riding a Goldwing with 'rain gear' and he was soaked. I'm ok with the amount I've paid for gear, because it works when it is supposed to.

I ride. 2012 Aprilia Tuono. That usually prompts the comment "a whata?"

If you're not familiar, it is an Italian bike that is basically a sportbike with dirtibike style bar so you sit upright. If that still doesn't paint the picture here is a picture of mine.

I don't ride as much anymore now that my kids are older but I still try to get out when I can sneak away.

Here is a picture of me on my old bike, an 03' Tuono, during a solo ride from CA home to PA. This shot was taken while on that ride as I did the Tail of the Dragon in TN/NC.

Foilist - very cool! I bet it was a lot of fun.
Skyhorse - looks great! It's coming right along. Can't wait to see it with the Stars and Stripes!

Skyhorse - I recognized that as a Captain America tribute right away - J&P has some blockhead rockers that looks like D-ring pans - nice start on that chop.

Mtneer - Had to post this one for you -

Foilist - I use those waterproof bags as well - the only thing I have ever used that is TRULY waterproof in and all day, pouring rain. That is why I put my tent and camp gear in one.
The following picture was taken in Fairbanks, AK after returning from our trip up the Dalton to Deadhorse. We tent camped in Coldfoot twice.

Just bought this one today and rode it home! This was coming off of a Honda maxi scooter, so it was an interesting riding experience, but I figure it went much more smoothly given that the previous year of riding meant I only had to adapt to using the clutch and shifting.

Wasn't too bad, but all that shifting made my left leg sore where they stuck screws into my bone:eek:.

Here's an in-camp pic to go with my in-transit pic earlier:

Foilist, that is a beauty! I noticed in the earlier post you have the kick-starter (jealous) what year is your Triumph?

How do you like the Ural? Those are wicked cool also! Which do you find yourself riding more often?
