I don't have a Tom Krein, but I do have one designed by Krein. A CRKT Mossback B&T. Grear little knife, used it for first time yesterday on squirrels.

Not a Tom Krein, but of his design. It's a CRKT Mossbact B&T, great little skinner.

I have never seen a Sharpfinger with a blade shaped like that one.
Also want to say this is one of my favorite threads!

It is not a Sharpfinger. It is a slightly different pattern.
That is correct, as my hasty error in trying to post too quickly today confused this unique knife's history. The 1979 Scrimshaw series used a drop point for the SC501 fixed blade with 1095 steel and scrimshaw on the white Delrin handle based on the late Frank Gorgianni's artwork. The iconic traditional Sharpfinger (152OT), introduced in 1974, has an upswept point, not drop. I prefer the drop to the upswept, but that doesn't excuse the confusion.

Jer, I'll bet your Kinfolks 315 has some stories it could tell. :)
Like the time I took it apart and put it back together with the leather washers out of order. And it has me to thank for the stitching and caulk lining of the sheath.
But yes, it looks like it had some serious though careful use a long time ago. Flea market find, sometime in the 80's perhaps.

Looking at these blades is fantastic! @Vaporstang -that Inyoni slays me, I recall the disdain for it I had when it came out, now I wish I had two:rolleyes:. Everybody who posted up their TK-11's: thanks. Tom's work is always enviable, the 11 has to be one of his most popular models, he offers it in three blade styles: standard(whatever you want to call the style), tanto, and a tremendous wharncliffe version.
Thanks, Neal
View attachment 783679 I don't know if this quite fits, but it would certainly get the job done! It's a Tom Krein mini-8, or TK-mini 8, or just mini 8. Cpm 3V. Brilliant knife for all sorts of work, really.
Thanks, Neal

Not sure why Tom called this "Wharncliffe", but it's a great knife. My TK11. I

While used primarily on deer and rabbits, this Schrade SC501 works well in the field to break-down birds and to clean fish. Admittedly, the blade is a bit stout for fine fish filet work.

That Schrade is a beauty !! I will be keeping my eye's open for one. I like the drop point better than the sharpfinger.

hamsco hamsco -you are funny man! Total wharnie blade on that, he even has a knife called the JTS that’s the same with about an inch more blade. Great stuff.
Thanks, Neal
