"Black Box" Winchesters

Is all that info in David Anthony's book, Al, Will and Vit??
Yes, that and quite a lot more, including a few details about Bill Howard's working relationship with Charlie Dorton and George Smith, the owners of Blue Grass Cutlery. For those that may not be familiar with those two men, they were long-time collectors and pioneers in the knife reproductions business.

Large Congress from 1996!! Must have been a Yellow Bone series Then? Anyone know??
Rings a current bell through my "Rose" colored glasses!!:D

Charlie, while not quite on your timeline of 1996, I have a BB trapper (2904 1/2, 1989) in smooth yellow bone, saber grind Turkish clip and spey blades. Will try to find a picture.

I am completely confused ...
Another source claims that Dave Scott was the owner of Blue Grass at the time, and after his passing away, his son Tim Scott inherited the property.
And what did Jim Parker, who owned Case at that time, have to do with Winchester knives?

Vit,

Dave Scott was one of the partners/owners along with Charlie Dorton and George Smith.

As far as I know, Jim Parker didn't have anything to do with the Winchester reproductions.

Parker supposedly contracted with Blue Grass Cutlery who then contracted with Queen to have the Case Classics made... with the exception of 4 or 5 patterns which were actually made by Case.

Man, that is NICE!! The Fort City club had an early SFO for BB Winchesters, ordering 160 of the model 1924 with MoP covers and a club etch in 1987. No, I don't have one. :(

Thank you, Stuart. I got lucky when I picked this one up on the exchange for a more than fair price.
I don't know whether thank you or cuss you for telling me about that '87 Fort City SFO. ;):D
