Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

I’m not a Barlow fan. The ones I have seem cheap. This one is just awesome. Love everything about it. Especially the saw cut slabs. You can see the cuts but just barely feel them in fact at some angles you can’t even see them.

I wish my Dad was still alive. For some reason this knife made me think of him. It would be fun to give it to him.View attachment 1657135

I was very much in favor of ivory white bone, but I have to say the pictures of this "hemlock" look beautiful. A few people have mentioned that the color seems to shift, depending on the angle and lighting. A knife that shifts between red/brown/black is a perfect recreation of the hotly contested color poll threads.👍

Mine is only 8 miles with 2 miles of it with a 30 MPH speed limit . But it is uphill both ways .

Mine has left the distribution center in KC, so it ought to be here by Tuesday, which will be on time. It made good time from Washington. I'll be out of town so it will sit at the local P.O. until I get back to claim it. Something to look forward too :D

I have to say, looking over the BF traditional knives from the past few years, it's impressive. I know the process involves the leaders herding cats and answering the same questions 1000+ times, but I really like the end results that the forum members have come up with via the voting processes. Perhaps the ends do justify the means in this case?

Dear Seattle Postal Hub worker,
There is a glorious package of awesomeness no doubt stuck in a nook or cranny somewhere of your vastly conveyored maze. It’s homing beacon is set for South Carolina and it needs a HOME! Perhaps there will be a team of sweeping gnomes and ferries that will discover it’s ‘lil lost self and return it to its original pathway.

Enjoy your time off on Monday. No need to rush. I’m enjoying pictures just fine. Just fine.

I agree 100%. While I still would have preferred ivory bone, these came out fantastic! I'm not disappointed a bit in any example I've seen

So what your saying is with the exception of the ivory crowd and the purple glitter faction ( Easyrider Easyrider 🙄) we ALL got what we wanted?? Far out! 🤩👍
🤣👍

I am really loving all of the photos of this epic knife. It looks to be the barlow to rule all barlows to my eyes. The classic sawcut bone covers, the color which I did not choose but am impressed with, and a larger than life by barlow standards stature. Doesn't look like a granddaddy barlow to me, but would love to see a side by side photo of this one with a granddaddy barlow. It will be a couple weeks probably for me to see this knife in hand, things being as they are.

Ta Da...finally made it to the mail box. This one is more of a cola color.

Everyone's Knives with the slight Variance of Colours look absolutely stunning! The Knife itself is gorgeous - the Bolsters are a very nice finish to a Big Barlow Knife that has Custom Knife qualities, most typical of a GEC, yet alone a Charlie / GEC Knife it comes as no surprise that we are looking at a Knife that is a very High in quality Knife.

The Reds are Deep - when the Red Dyes get too light on Knives - it can at times give pinker tones - in my opinion it tends to turn away people from that Knife, but these are Super Deep and Rich Looking - the Browner Toned Knives are also very Deep and Rich looking., Really Really attractive Knives!

Well done to all involved, I didn't enter the voting or polls with the build as I was looking from the outside in, the results in my personal tastes could not have turned out better, Thank you to the Chief's involved with the making of this.

Just out of curiosity if you got a shipping notification and tracking number does it mean it should have shipped? I know many are shipping next week but my label was printed on the 27th but not tracking.
You should be able to get on usps informed delivery to see if it’s been accepted/picked up and in their hands or not.

I appreciate you quoting my posts since my original post got moved to the DA thread.

I wasn't too wrapped up in to see the mods do that- and trust they will edit again if they wish, that's why this place is so good with less people like yourself having input, the Mods do a great job, I hope that the folks here just hit the ignore button on your Avatar, It's also noteworthy to see how proud you are to see your work being displayed - says a lot about you, Shame man.

Being a single blade, the frame is slender for the size and the weight is acceptable for jeans, trousers or shorts.
It's been my carry since its arrival Friday and confidently screams, "Put me in your pocket. It is a joy to work for you."
In the past, every new knife I've gotten from GEC only received initial bonding phase carry and then occasional carry.
This Barlow has been a remarkable exception with no regrets and no looking back.
This knife is a GREAT fit for my needs and apparently is for many others as well. It's a definite winner.
And no knife is perfect. Backspring is ever so slightly proud at the half-stop on mine ... which means nada to me. It's flush both open and closed.
