Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

Those white dessicant packs will be worth a fortune to collectors down the road.

What with so many forum members sharpening their forum knife, actually using the knife, and now you are tossing the dessicant packs away, I am starting to wonder about most of you. Do you all wear the button on your lapel also?

I will be doing the responsible thing and my forum knife (and button and dessicant pack and styrofoam packing peanuts) will be locked away in a heavy steel ammo box and buried in the backyard never ever to see light of day.

It can’t arrive soon enough.
Yep, my Forum Knife is a safe queen too! I have other knives that serve as my EDC.

I am really loving all of the photos of this epic knife. It looks to be the barlow to rule all barlows to my eyes. The classic sawcut bone covers, the color which I did not choose but am impressed with, and a larger than life by barlow standards stature. Doesn't look like a granddaddy barlow to me, but would love to see a side by side photo of this one with a granddaddy barlow. It will be a couple weeks probably for me to see this knife in hand, things being as they are.
These knives are not lined up with a straight edge so do not try to judge them against one another exactly but I think you could conclude that there is quite a difference in size between the GEC 86 2AB Knife and 3 Old Named Grand Daddy Barlows . Going down from the top they are : Russell /// GEC 86 2AB /// Case /// and Remington .

You should be able to get on usps informed delivery to see if it’s been accepted/picked up and in their hands or not.
Thanks. Informed delivery is how I know my label was printed on the 27th but I got the notification from Barry several days later so just trying to sort out if it should be on its way as it doesn't appear that it is.

Stropped, oiled, and a coat of Ren Wax. Now it’s pocket time!

I remember reading somewhere you can “recharge” the desiccated packs by baking them in the oven. I guess they need to re dry out? Maybe a little frosting when they are warm…like cupcakes.

Just realized I hadn't posted a picture of my 2021 Blade Forums knife in this thread yet. So, here it is. I won't say the spring pin and rear pin are raised but they are a bit more prominent than usual. I think is because they didn't want to take a chance of spinning the pins into the bone - grain/sawcut covers.

Yep, I’ve always kept a couple bags (not sure what they weigh, about the size of a softball) in my gun safe. I pull them out every 6 months or so and bake ‘‘em at 300 until they’re good and toasty.

I agree with you Ed, mine are very raised also. I wouldn’t have minded if they were spun a bit deeper even if that meant going into the cover a bit. Just my opinion of course.

I have a couple big ones in the bottom of my safe too…guess I should bake them. They have been there for years.

Looks like we all picked out a real nice paint job for the very excellent Barlow that GEC did a fantastic job on!:cool: I swear this one looks red-ish, brown-ish, and amber-ish depending on which way I hold my mouth whenever I look at It. 😄

Thanks again to @waynorth , @gunstockjack , @Peregrin , @knarfeng, @Spark , and Bill & everyone at GEC!

As usual, after I've handled & gawked at a new GEC knife on the first day, I then take a look at the tube. In this case there's a back label with a neat little story describing the knife and all that led up to what we selected. Well done meako meako !:thumbsup:

Folks, these Barlows are outstanding!! Personally I love the really dark ones with the hint of dark red. Just phenomenal! Congrats to all. What a fantastic BF knife.
I may have to change my mind and see if I can get in on the Canadian drop. Would be my first BF knife of my years here, and an absolute perfect keeper at that.

If anyone “falls out of love” with your dark BF Barlow, keep me in mind. :) Haha (fat chance right?)

I hope you all enjoy them for years to come.
