Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

On a lighter note, literally, here's a comparison of the mark and pile sides. I think between the stuff I carry and a pocket full of sheetrock dust, I gave the mark side about a years worth of wear in a week 😶

Good thing I like the look huh? 😁👍
That looks fantastic! It makes me want to carry mine so that my handle could look like that (I mean, mine will probably stay a safe queen, but I wish it could be a safe queen with scales like those).

Fellow porchers, I Charlie C, accept responsibility for a somewhat loose approach to offering, obtaining a BF knife this year!! We tried several means to limit buyers, like allowing only one knife each, which a very few people managed to skirt somehow!!
We put a huge price, $999 on them, with a "magic" word to give you a $900 discount!! All in the efforts to make the Forum knife supply tasks less onerous!!
Smaller quantities make screening easier, as you might see when the Canadian portion of the order gets to me for distribution!! (Wait until I post them!! Don't Message, Email, call or write to me, until I post them!! - It's not fair to nag!! - keep watch!!)
I see more people not willing to make the effort to get these knives out to you!! Maybe it's because we tried to make this a non-profit event, and it's just gotten too big! There are some interesting volunteers, though - more later!!
And of course the knife is from a trusted and desirable maker!!
I guess we'll have to rethink this long and hard for next year!!
Again, I apologize for trying to short-cut the process somewhat!!
I thank all who participated, and will continue to participate soon in the Great White North!!

A word!! Please don't pay more for an aftermarket example!! Extra shipping might be in order!! (postage is triple in Canada!!) But here is our chance to get even with any flippers!! Fair game in my Book!!
No apologies needed. There will always be hic-ups and flaws in any system and things can and will go wrong, no system is perfect. This forum is run by and monitored by volunteers, the Bladeforum knife is a time consuming complicated project run by volunteers, and overall you have all done a good job and need to be congratulated. Everyone was told that the mailing project was a job in itself and going to take time and be done in batches, on top of GEC closing for a period of time before they had dispatched all the knives. There will always be schemers and flippers, that is the nature of the beast, but overall most, i said most who wanted a knife got one, and the amount of friendship and generosity shown by members offering theirs to other members who did miss out is fantastic. But no Charlie, you of all people do not need to come on here and give a public apology, there are a lot of other things i would like to say, but i am going to hold my tongue, i don't want to lower myself. You have a good week mate and take care over there.

I’m all against flipping the forum knife and all, but seriously let’s not start posting names and addresses here of potential suspects!
I agree. This is a public forum, and this place is a cross-section of society, with all manner of people of varying backgrounds (criminal, psychologically disturbed, etc). Not only is it unethical to harass people by using personal information against them, it could cause some legal issues as well.

Let’s not lose our heads here in pursuit of mob justice. There will always be flippers when it comes to something made widely available… ALWAYS. If someone wants to pay $1,000 for it there isn’t anything harassing someone is going to do to stop it.

Let it go.

waynorth waynorth Charlie, you're the last person that needs to apologize.
I think we ALL 100% agree with you there Alan, Charlie has done more for all of us than we actually know - and we know that Charlie has done an awful lot!

Charlie my friend never apologise, all of you people involved in the BF Knife did nothing but good.
If there is ever another BF Knife, I sincerely hope that you all step back and leave it to others who I am sure will find just how much exhausting work you all put into this.

Again, Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this Knife to fruition - and on top of all this - it's a stunning Knife for such a low cost - how can we not be thankful?

wasn't what you where trying to do something like herding cats, you should get a medal for that.

Sorry this project turned into such a headache :( Thanks to r8shell r8shell , mine is on its way across The Pond :) I think it's only the third BF Traditional forum knife I've purchased, negative issues aside, it looks like it might be the best of them all

As for next year, getting a SAK or Opinel personalised seems to be an inexpensive and hassle-free option ;)

In all seriousness, a customized Huntsman or Spartan would be a great knife for me. I'd love to have one, and it would make a great backpack knife. And as long as it was a porch decision, it would meet my needs.

I agree. Keep the value sentimental, don’t make it something that is a lucrative target for flippers. A simple every day knife with a nice engraving/personalization. Matters to the people it should… not profitable on secondary… and in fact probably less so.

$999 for the forum knife huh? What a dickwad. That's as nice as I can be whoever you are. People like you ruin it for everyone.
Well...if it's a member here it should be easy enough for you to identify and blacklist them from future sales like has always been discussed. If it's not a member here...well, we all know why that happened🙄

Charlie, I don’t blame you for anything except doing your best to make a special knife happen. Some have squeaked through every year. Y’all have always done well. You’re right, it’s gotten huge now, and that makes it hard for one. Combined with occasionally being a highly desired brand, well…..

Thanks, Charlie. Meako. GSJ for making it happen.
