Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

This is exaggerated information. It denigrates the efforts of those who tried to distribute the BF knives fairly!!
It's true some people have decided to sell their BF knives. (price pressure??)
And most of the ones in the "notorious" photo were purchased aftermarket, and are being resold aftermarket.
I'm getting tired of all the accusations!!
Never again!! 🤬
Ignore him one bad apple.

Personally I appreciate what you did sending me mine and I treasure it.

Charlie, not some or even most of the forum knives in that pic were purchased aftermarket, ALL of them were purchased aftermarket. I just went to the facebook thread where that picture was shared and read through all the comments there. Somebody asked the original poster how he was able to get so many BladeForum knives and this was his exact reply:

"I've bought them all secondary. September 15th I had no BF 86's or Waynorth 93's and I made a post offering to pay $600 and viola, inbox was flooded. Like a reverse sale advertisement. I sell high but I buy high also."

So, people of The Porch, please reach for your cooler tempers. There have been a lot of insinuations and accusations made here that are flat-out false. That person did not cheat the system with multiple BF accounts, and he did not acquire so many because those involved in distributing the knife somehow screwed up. Apparently he spent $600 a pop for them. Personally I think that's crazy, but it's his money. Perhaps you should save some of your disappointment for the six Porch members who decided to flip their forum knives, and the others who are currently doing so on eBay and elsewhere. But frankly, when people here start calling names--on top of leaping to false conclusions--it reflects badly on *us* not on some guy with more money than sense.

Gary, I hope this post will be allowed, my apologies for dipping back into flipper discussion but hopefully this bit of further information will put the matter to rest.

Charlie, whatever happens with these forum knives on the secondary market is downstream of you and the insanity there is in no way your fault. Your efforts in making the forum knife a reality are greatly appreciated.
Why are you continuing to come here and defend a money-grubbing turd like that? The BF Traditional Forum Knife is a long-standing project, and until very recently, it had nothing to do with individuals who aren't even part of this forum, making money. Year after year, folks like Charlie, have volunteered to bring us a club knife at a reasonable price, with no thought for enriching themselves. But because of some greedy scumbags on Facebook, there are now insults and accusations flying about here, and the project is in future jeopardy. I don't give two hoots about FB or those who post there. There are some who post there, who, if they were worth a jot, would have a deep sense of shame about the way they greedily elbowed their way in here, or facilitated others doing so. Sorry if you're offended on behalf of them, but having read your posting history, I really could care less.

I am confused we are supposed to feel good/sorry/pat him on the back this person for making lots of money out of us?
I certainly don't expect you to feel sorry for him, or to congratulate him, or to have any particular feelings about him at all. As I said more than once, in my personal opinion, I think it's crazy to spend that kind of money. Is he "making lots of money" on us? Doubtful, because few if any of us would spend that much even if we could. I can guarantee that he is not making any money on me. The only reason I even stuck my neck out with a response here is because people were jumping to conclusions that I knew to be wrong.

Well, I can truthfully say I have no idea what it is about my prior posting that would lead you to dismiss me. If there is something in my history here that you'd like to discuss in private I'd welcome the opportunity. I don't have the time or desire for bad blood here or anywhere else. I did not come here to defend *him* and frankly I don't understand him. I think there's something screwy with the way he obsessively buys and sells. But I will say that when the temperature of the discussion gets hot here, when people are name-calling and making false accusations, the Porch is not the welcoming place that people like to think it is.

Yeah, that phrase was bandied around a lot here, earlier in the year, when there were folks with no posting history, here in Traditionals, suddenly posting like maniacs, trying to fulfill the minimum posting requirements for this year's forum knife. The air was thick with the sound of violins! Most of those, who whined about how things were here, scooped up a knife, and were on their toes. Personally, I think we were were much too accommodating. I love this place, and the regulars who post here, but I don't like what has been visited upon it this year, by a few avaricious individuals who never posted here in the past.

As someone who has followed, read, and interacted with every single BF thread closely since it first started being discussed early this year I can confidently say I know how much has gone into the making of this years forum knife and I know how much work Charlie, the mods, and everyone else involved contributed and it goes without saying that they are all truly appreciated. I’ve said it before many times and I’ll continue to say how appreciative I am for Charlie, this community and all the folks behind the scenes making things happen.

NO system is perfect. We shouldn’t expect perfect, if perfect is what you expect then you should be the one making all the magic happen!

If it wasn’t for Bladeforums, the annual BF knife tradition, Charlie, the mods, Bill and all of GEC, and GSJ’s I would not have the absolute joy of owning and using my Knife of the Year!!!

Every so often this conversation pops up about the system and flippers and it ruffles feathers and leaves folks irritated for no reason. It’s all part of the process and always will be

Edit: As much as I think I know I’m positive there’s much more work that happened behind the scenes that I don’t know about. Thank you to everyone.

This “S” has been in my pocket every single day since I received it from Charlie. My KOTY!!! It’s flawless!!! I take it out of my pocket every day and just look at it! Look at that beautiful Barlow bolster! EPIC!!!

I understand that, but... I'm here, this post gains me nothing, except maybe a friendly nod. I'd pull up a chair and share a beer with you and chat knives any time 🍻

You have good taste in everything except that 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oil you drink that masquerades as Coffee 😂

I know we have a #86 thread already but I think this great knife deserves a thread of its own.

No discussions on the process, I think its time to draw a line in the sand on that one.

Post your pics as they arrive.
I think a lot of people have fallen asleep at their wheel, drunk or otherwise , and have forgotten what the OP said o_O;) Most of us got a knife we wanted at a price we liked, what happens after is another matter, this is what I think is meant by process.

I am awestruck by the understanding, and appreciation for everything, on the parts of the more rational members here!! You've all tipped the balance back to sanity 😲 , and inspired a new twist on a Giveaway!! I've picked the knife, and it likely won't get to anyone by Christmas, but I think it will be fun!!
Sorry I kinda lost it back several posts, but it is with renewed vigor I will post a New Year's GA!!:D
