Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

You failed to make the system work for actual members who wanted the knife and you leaked them for the filppers instead. Boo hoo.
This is exaggerated information. It denigrates the efforts of those who tried to distribute the BF knives fairly!!
It's true some people have decided to sell their BF knives. (price pressure??)
And most of the ones in the "notorious" photo were purchased aftermarket, and are being resold aftermarket.
I'm getting tired of all the accusations!!
Never again!! 🤬

Rest assured, Charlie, you are greatly appreciated by the vast majority of us. We know how much effort you put into bringing us such a beautiful knife. Also how much effort the moderators put into vetting buyers and making the process fair. Ignorant and inaccurate comments, like the one you quoted, should be ignored.

I can’t say that I blame you for not getting involved with any future forum knives but please believe me that I appreciate what you did. I may have gotten my forum knife on the secondary market, from that glitter guy, at the same price that he paid. It is a great knife and I will be sorry to see the forum knife end but I certainly wouldn’t blame you.

I certainly don't blame you and want to say again thank you and that I appreciate all that you, Jack, Bill, Spark and the mods here have done for 2021 and all the past forum knives.

Always a snake in the woodpile, Charlie! You've been a friend and a contributor to this forum for a long time. You are appreciated! Love you man! (not in any romantic sense!)

Charlie, not some or even most of the forum knives in that pic were purchased aftermarket, ALL of them were purchased aftermarket. I just went to the facebook thread where that picture was shared and read through all the comments there. Somebody asked the original poster how he was able to get so many BladeForum knives and this was his exact reply:

"I've bought them all secondary. September 15th I had no BF 86's or Waynorth 93's and I made a post offering to pay $600 and viola, inbox was flooded. Like a reverse sale advertisement. I sell high but I buy high also."

So, people of The Porch, please reach for your cooler tempers. There have been a lot of insinuations and accusations made here that are flat-out false. That person did not cheat the system with multiple BF accounts, and he did not acquire so many because those involved in distributing the knife somehow screwed up. Apparently he spent $600 a pop for them. Personally I think that's crazy, but it's his money. Perhaps you should save some of your disappointment for the six Porch members who decided to flip their forum knives, and the others who are currently doing so on eBay and elsewhere. But frankly, when people here start calling names--on top of leaping to false conclusions--it reflects badly on *us* not on some guy with more money than sense.

Gary, I hope this post will be allowed, my apologies for dipping back into flipper discussion but hopefully this bit of further information will put the matter to rest.

Charlie, whatever happens with these forum knives on the secondary market is downstream of you and the insanity there is in no way your fault. Your efforts in making the forum knife a reality are greatly appreciated.

Charlie, your efforts are appreciated by the vast majority of us. It is the nature of the GEC phenomenon that is responsible for the flipping, not anything that we as a group can have much effect on. Going to another manufacturer might be the only answer.

I passed on the Saddle Trapper, but regret not getting one for a blade delete (would have never occurred to me at the time) 😁👍
Oh my word! It’s one of my favorite knives!

Charlie, worry not what the cast MINORITY thinks. Some people listen to the rumors and like the drama too much. The vast most of us all really appreciate your time and energy. I stand by what I said. The system worked better than usual. Fewer of these ended up on the bay the week they than the years before. Plus, I am one of the ones that the system that was being knocked for (the ones that missed the initial drop and got accepted from the extras pile, due to a hurricane) and have been vocal about that. All you guys, even GSJ, are appreciated by me.

It's a shame that such a beautiful knife has to go through such muck!! Just because it's got something special, it inspires the greedy!!
If the charmer on Ebay selling the forum knife for a $1,000 is on here reading, then I can tell him I am the one who sent you a message telling you what I think of you.

If he is here its going to drive him mad if he is reading this cus he cant have a go at me without revealing he's the no morals Ebay chancer. 🤣

I looked at the individual in question on Facebook also and by all intents he isn't a member here.unless he has his different hobbies very well siloed. It appears that many other people know of him as well so I suspect if he was here he would have been identified already.

Did he buy those knives as he said by posting up a substantial offer? Hard to say that. Did he make arrangements in is circle of friends to be proxy buyers? Did he work some other angle to get that many of them? Hard to say. I would say the loose release would be a major contributing factor and he and his methods are not to my taste.

I think Charlie has handled his end of this without fault. I would definately say to take a break from the forum knife for next year if it happens and honestly now would be the time for the decision to be made if they will carry on and then the how, who, and what can be addressed with less time pressure.

Folks before everyone grabs for their torches and pitchforks I can tell you that this person almost certainly did not acquire these six 2021 forum knives through dishonest means. I'm in several of those facebook groups and I know who this person is, he is a HUGE trader of knives. He buys and sells and trades hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth in knives every single day. I'm certain he did not cheat the system by creating six different bladeforums accounts and ordering multiples at $100. There have been quite a number of the forum knives that have gone up on eBay and in other areas. I'd guess that he spent $500+ on each of those (and/or made significant trades for them). Is this sane? I don't think so, but if he wants to and is able to invest this kind of money into knives that's his business (and quite literally it's his business). He is one of those eBay sellers that regularly lists GECs for $500-1000+. It's crazy and he is definitely guilty of flipping and profiteering, but he does all that openly. Please don't jump to conclusions and think there is no way he could come by that many forum knives except by lying and cheating. You can have six forum knives too if you're willing to spend several thousand dollars for them.
I am confused we are supposed to feel good/sorry/pat him on the back this person for making lots of money out of us?

I think what you have said is an uneducated insult.
If you are any kind of a man you should apologise to Waynorth and all the others that put so much effort in.

Its not an exact science and they have/had to trust us,some here let them down.
