If someone were to ask me to describe my kind of knife, this picture would provide a succinct response:

Description from Jerry's web site:

"This is an 11 inch blade bowie. It is 1084 steel and double tempered.
Browned iron mountings with a thin copper spacers on each side of the ferrule and in front of the pommel. This is one of two field grade bowies that will be made this year. The other will be my personal bowie set up similar to this one but with a wood handle. Weight is 16 ounces with the balance point being right on the line of the front of the ricasso
."

bladeshow-08-wedgiehandle.jpg

This is a three stack W pattern. Fossil Walrus handle with stainless frame and a cone wedgie. Engraving and gold inlay with the gold pins. Looks better in person as my photo graph skills suck. Thats all I got to say about that.
I am not through with this piece, I still have to stipple the background on the other side [the public side] then apply the lacquer, so that is about 7-9 hours more. In my opinion this knife is richly done but not over the top.

Another knife that Adam DesRosiers is taking to Blade.

Adam has been getting lessons from Matt Lamey on how to bring out the differential hardness zones in a blade. He's pretty happy with the system. This is a brute of a blade at 11-1/2" long and 2-7/16" wide. It's nearly a half inch thick at the ricasso. It's forged from a 1" round bar of W-2. He did not use clay on the blade when he hardened it. The handle is desert ironwood with stainless guard.

Wow, that field grade bowie is amazing.

love the Fisk Bowie, classic. The big Bowie/Chopper from Adam is equally cool, but in a more brutal way. Im always glad to share some quick & easy polishing methods with makers like Adam. Cant wait to see that beast in person.

Here is one I will be bringing to Blade, 12-1/2" x 2-1/4" Bowie/recurve/fighter not sure what kind of guard/handle yet....

Matt, that blade looks lightening struck. Did you hook a current to it! Awesome blade.

Classic Fisk bowie is nothing but great.

Then, there is Adam's. This thread is filling up with some serious steel! Lovin' it.
