Wow... Just "wow".

Now I'm depressed. As a guy who's about to cut up his first piece of leaf spring to fashion a blade, you guys are a hard act to follow... Seeing your gems makes me want to throw my stuff in the trash (not really).

I can see now what CAN be accomplished, and the bar is set so high I can barely see it from where I stand. Your work provides a goal. Though I expect never to reach that goal, the attempt is worthwhile.

If I can make something one tenth as nice as ANYTHING I've seen in this thread I will be proud of it.

I am simply in awe of the makers... no, "creators"... no, "exceptional artisans" and the beautiful objects you create.

"In awe" of your skills is the best I can come up with, but it isn't descriptive enough of what I see in your work.

I bow humbly to you all!!

I have donated this knife to the American Bladesmith Society for their auction. The ABS auction will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at 4:30pm, in room 103 of the Cobb Galleria. This knife will be sold at the auction.

You will be able to see the knife before the auction at the ABS table located at 1-P at the Blade Show.

Here's another one from Jerry. Still a little work to be done. Could be my favorite Fisk damascus pattern to date. At least among the top.
He describes it below:
"This is an approx 7 1/2 inch blade of a "W" pattern that has been "Dog Star" patterned afterwards. I was just wanting to see what it would look like. The handle is antique elephant ivory with the mountings being 01 steel and "grayed". The engraving is a simple 24kt gold inlayed "X" with shading and a flower or leaf thingy on each side of that. I have yet to put the two domed pins in the handle."

Here are some WIP pics of four Haiku knives I'm getting ready for the BLADE show. All are toggle-tang construction takedown pieces. All of them have the handle furniture done entirely in titanium. Two have handles wrapped with twisted titanium wire, and two have rubber wrapped handles. The black rubber is nitrile, the brown rubber is fluorocarbon. Blade lengths from 6 1/2" to 9", D-2 steel, weights range from seven to nine ounces. These all still need finishing work, but they're coming together and starting to look like knives now. All will get Vorpal style kydex breakfront scabbards and shoulder rigs.

I'll also have some cool titanium money clips with various images embossed on them, some copies of my novel, some of my fantasy coin work, and perhaps even some of the cabinet hardware that I make.
