BLADE SHOW 2011 Update Thread

My pleasure guys. Forgot to add - Best Fighter went to R.J. Martin - just a terrific piece with KILLER grinds. All the award knives get pro shots, so I'll look forward to seeing that one again.

Folks, thank you for taking your time to post these shots of the show for those of us who could not make it this year . . . .
Be safe.

I recognize the Belgian tourist on the right...

Salut Sam...:D

Thank you for all these pictures..;-)

No pic of that one Roger? :(

I'm in the car checking out this thread on my iPad. Really good stuff!

I'm SO glad for RJ, although I never saw his piece. He didn't enter Best Tactical intentionally. Show the world he can win whatever he tries hard at.

We had a banner year, as did Point Seven. As we both left the loading dock, I remarked: "A rising tide floats all boats". Makers and collectors are seeing the benefits of professional photos, and are utilizing the opportunity.

Susan's driving, I'm chillin. ;) Buddy is probably in Denver by now. He helped make the SBC studio and my sanity happen.

A BIG shoutout to STeven Garsson for his hospitality. Whataguy. :)

Coop

Wow! Busiest show to date!

I missed seeing and visiting with many and am regretful for that. But really enjoyed the folks I did visit with.

Coop, I owe you and Susan a Big Apology for not getting by your room. But I did send knives.:o:)

Thanks for posting the pictures guys. It is hard to get around and see people and knives when you are supposed to be working behind a table and this helps get names and faces together. Seeing all the knives is something that will always be impossible for someone that attends the show and this thread really highlights some beautiful work that would otherwise be missed by many!

Charlie and I had a great show this year. Probably our best Blade Show ever. We got to meet some of our long time customers face to face, as well as some new ones and some of you guys from the forums that we have talked with over the years. That is always one of the high points of a show to us. We really appreciate it when someone says "I'm so and so from the forums".

You guys buying our knives is another high point of the show for us and y'all did a great job at that this year! Thanks!:D

Here is a shot of Don & Anders observing some of Brent's ivory:

Actually, they didn't scuffle too much this year over the ivory. Here are some of the results when the ivory dust settles;

I was happy to get to meet Sam Lurquin at the show, up and coming maker from Belgium. I introduced Sam to Kyle and they really hit it off, language barrier and all.

Watching them study each other's work was a treat.

Congrats to Kyle for passing his MS test, and look forward to Sam's testing for JS next year in Atlanta.
