Jeff - nice grabs both. Karl showed me some detailed photos illustrating the concealed threaded tang on that piece - very nice piece of work.

Roger

(PS - the Best Bowie award is erroneously listed at that link as going to John Martin - it in fact went to John White)

Roger,

I knew that you would notice that!

Congratulations on getting a very special knife.

Ah, so that is what you picked up from John, Roger. Beautiful knife, I do imagine you are tickled. It was great to see you Roger. Diane and I always hope you will make the show, and Thank you for the review of the fighter.
It was another good Blade show. Great to see old friends and meet new ones. Congratulations also to the new Masters and Journeymen ( and women).
Thanks for another great show.

Brion - good to see you and Diane again - and another round of virtual applause on that fighter.

Matt - thanks for adding that pic of R.J.'s award-winning fighter here. Can't tell you how much I loved that thing.

Anyone have pictures of these winners? That would be great for those of us who could not attend.

WoW that pile of slipjoints is unbelieveable! John made these? where does he find the time and how come they are stacked up with the stag? How much were they?

I have one on the way soon from John Lloyd. What a pleasant experience this has been dealing with him , I will no doubt be buying more from him.

Here's "Most Innovative Design".

Innovative, very much so....also uglier than most knives I have ever seen, terrible blade-to-handle ratio and where and what exactly is the point? I have to go bleach my eyes.....and I LIKE your work(at least previous)!

As I recall you are a motor vehicle racer of some sort and have a hot lady, so you do know what sleek and sexy looks like. This piece looks like the knife version of a Speer 200 gr. 45 "flying ashtray".

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Hi Steven,
I appreciate your thoughts and candor :)

The EDX is a very hard-use utility intended to challenge certain concepts on functional grounds consistent with it's hard-use, minimalist design intent.

Fortunately for me, it has been received very enthusiastically overall --- It has proven more popular than anything I've done to date by orders of magnitude.
The numbers (and opportunities for the EDX) are a little paralyzing, actually.

Thanks for the kind mention of the Mrs.
She is pretty great! Thankfully for my daughters, they seem to take after her in the beauty department . :o
Take care!

^Haven't seen many pretty box cutters either, but there's been many times when I was glad to have one.

Innovative and cool - really needs a vid to show it off, too. Well done and congrats on the award.

Roger

It looks as though many of the design concepts behind that knife are nothing short of ingenious, Mr. Caswell - it also appears as though the award is well deserved! Nice!!

Great video! I noticed that you carry in your left pocket, but are right handed. Will you be making a lefty version?

I like the engineering and I'm partial to the looks. Like no other. Wished I could have seen one in person.

Very cool.
