BladeForums BEST BOWIE - 2012 - Voting Closed - Finalists Selected!

This is jus an awesome thread. Thank you all and keep em coming.

And this is just one person's opinion, but if you have to submit your own work, it probably isn't the best of 2012. Really, not only in knives but in all fields, if you are doing the best work, others will speak for you.

As I have said in an ealier post. How do you pick a winner out of the spectacular work that is shown here. It beats the stuffing out of me! WOW! Amazing photos by those who know how to portray the work as it is. This is ART in its pureist form, well for me anyway. Do you agree?
Cheers Keith

Roger, thanks for setting this up and a thank you to all the contributors. With all these stunning knives I am continuously drawn back to the Hendrickson in post 34. The carving is incredible.

I narrowed it down to 15 knives so far:D;) Keep 'm coming otherwise it will be way too easy for me to make a choice.

Given the flow of new entries I can say that nominations will remain open at least for the rest of the day today .

Buddy - wow!

John - makers were specifically invited to show their work - as they have been since the very first Best Bowie. As a collector, I find it interesting to see what the maker views as their personal "best". The first couple years it was like pulling teeth to get makers to join in. This year we have seen more than ever. I'm grateful for that.

Keith - it's hard to pick a winner - and it gets harder every year. Which is surely a good sign! For me, the hardest part has always been narrowing down the full field of nominees to just 5 (except in the event of ties) finalists. Once the focus is exclusively on the final five, there is usually one for me that stands out as my personal pick for best of the best. But getting this tremendous group down to just 5? Brutally tough.

WOW!!! EVERY year it gets harder to narrow the selections to single numbers, and ALREADY there is an incredible selection of knives!

What a treat to view this thread!

Time to start writing down some choices!

I know that Roger had already shown a Tsavo, but Eric was somewhat unusual....

This his Tsavo...

I love this knife for a lot of reasons.

The first: it's mine:)

Then for this Sam, no beautiful wood, not Damascus.

It is a semi-integral, but above all, it is a line, almost an outline...

Cody, Norbert (Berno), and Karl: You need to number your entries.

Good stuff.

Any reason why this can't stay open until near the end of the year? At least through the weekend so the working stiffs have time to post!

I love the Best Bowie event every year, but I was wondering-what about Best Bladeforums Knife contest in the future? Open the field up to all types. Just a thought.

Here are a couple that I'm partial to.
