Blades & Bourbon

Out of the "Weller/Willet Wednesday" cliché I'm shooting Knob Creek tonight.
Not particular reason for the patch but it goes well with the knife, I think CM liked this model...
Cheers BF friends !

Well, it's not bourbon but I couldn't resist posting a link to an article about this "unique" offering of a rose sparkling wine from Napa.

See: Just The Tipsy

I just bought 2 bottles.

The company says it tastes "really good . . . smooth, crisp and inviting with a long finish" but that's not exactly why I bought them.

LOL! ;)

I love "my" cherries since several decades
Perfectly right taste and right price :^D

Anyway never saw any luxardo things here or there
You push me into desert dry deep abyss ...

After a buying binge this summer/fall, I've just been drinking up all of the cheap boubon (and scotch) to open up shelf space for the "good" stuff.

The only "new" bourbons that I've purchased recently are 2 bottles of Pinhook BourbonWar Vertical 6 and 2 bottle of Sabbatical - Port Finished. Haven't opened either yet.

I'm planning to collect all 9 bottles in the Pinhook Vertical series from yr 4 to yr 12; only have yrs 4, 5 & 6 so far. I should open them to do a comparative tasting of the 3 but I still need some more shelf space for that; the 3 bottles are currently laying down in my wine rack.

Sabattical is a distillery near me that just opened up in the last year or so. They make some young but very good whisky. Got to taste some of the Port Finished Bourbon at their tasting room before I bought it and I thought it was "good." They only produced 297 bottles out of 1 barrel of the stuff.

Will provide some "tasting notes" when I finally get around to opening/drinking them. ;)

sgt1372 sgt1372 that Pinhook is great ! I got all the releases till now, I’m usually buying 2 bottles per release, or more if I like it. I keep one unopened and I open the other one. So far I think I like the 6yo much better.

Thanks for the info.

Like the KC12, Pinhook is not widely distributed in the West. Haven't seen another bottle since. Was going to buy some that was available online but stumbled on 2 bottles of Vertical 6 at my LLS. It'll be even harder to find around here as the years go on.

I "should" open Vertical 4/5/6 to comparison test them but it just seems silly to open 3 bottles of booze to drink by myself.

Not that I haven't done that before. LOL! ;)
