Blades & Bourbon

Marty, download their app. They don’t have spam or selling your info.
From the app, you can get in touch with them and ask for particular bottle.
‘If it’s legal, they will ship it to you.
Also, let me know if you’re interested of something theirs off the shelf, as you know I’ll be happy
if I can help…
Pinhook in my opinion, is one of the very best new Bourbons and their rye is just exceptional.
‘I would highly recommend any of their lines but you already know the good ones

Different company, but New Riff is another very, very good new Bourbon name.
‘If you never tried it, grab one, the higher proof series are truly outstanding !

Another one, readily available, that I think is very good (do some research of the name)
is Noble Oak, Double Oak, great everyday sip with very good quality !

Cheers !

I'd agree with this.

I've only tasted their Pinhook Bohemian (95 and 114.5 Proof) and their Bourbon War Vertical 4 so far but they taste great to me.

I like the "concept" of the Vertical Series and expect to be on board until Vertical 12.

Checked out their app and website. Signed up for text msging on their website and noted that they have links to various online sellers, like Drizzley, who stock their bottles. I'll check back in July/Aug 2022 for Vertical 7.

PS: I've seen Nobel Oak on the shelf. Not buying much right now but it'll be on my list when I start trying "new to me" bourbons again.

Bought a bottle of a "Sonoma Bourbon" (bottled in Rohnert Park, CA) that I've been meaning to try for awhile.

It's only aged about 2 years (like "Sabattical" another local distiller that I've mentioned before). It's distinctly sweet (70% corn) but still with a slight bite which I assume comes from the remaining wheat (25%) and barley (5%). It's smooth enough to drink neat but I prefer it on the rocks w/some water.

It's shown here w/the Spyderco Bradley Folder (aka the Gayle Bradley 1 or GB 1) that I am currently carrying. Been wanting to drive to their tasting room to taste their whiskeys but it's been closed for Covid and still hasn't reopened. :(

Legent is very overlooked and underrated Bourbon… Since Suntory acquired Beam few years ago, this particular Bourbon is the brainchild of two true legends: Fred Noe and ShinjI Fukuyo.
Its around $30-$38 bucks and worth every penny ! It’s a fine liquor that everyone who appreciate fine Japanese Scotch and Classic US Bourbon, must try.

Here is another example of few fine speciments… This particular Centenary edition of JW is literally impossible to find today, as well as the Blade Runner bottle of JW Black, it used to be around $70 in TW….
The New Riff was the very first Bourbonr pick, those are long gone, and my lovely Beretta Cheetah is the some how rare 13 rounds double stack 84 model…:thumbsup:
‘Cheers Gents !!!

I'm pretty sure you can still get them at auction for a reasonable price. I don't believe the whisky inside is all that different from the standard version. They do that with the blue a lot as well.

Did you ever notice each horse on the Blanton's has a different letter. I have almost collected the word Blanton. Yeah I enjoy it alot. Great sipping whiskey.

unwisefool unwisefool - Hi, I think it is much different than any JW I tried, in a good way. I drink JW for probably over 30 years, I think it is differen, at least it has nothing to do with the Blue label, that I like but not crazy about…

Rufus1949 Rufus1949 Yes, they have a small, round section by the horses legs with letter in it. If you collect all stoppers with the word “Blantons” you’ll see one cycle of the horse walking.
‘Blantons is very nice but from the Buffalo Trace‘s lineup I personally prefer better Colonel Taylor and Weller.

Not particularly enamored of Blanton's, myself...
Working what was a fresh bottle of Michter's, searching the Exchange (the Bay, and various dealers) for what might be my next knife...

Opened a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 today.

I've got 7 bottles of the stuff. 6 after I kill this one. Bought up all of the bottles on display one day at my LLS for just around $35@.

Haven't seen any more there since.

It was a bargain IMO and it's delicious to boot. Pics to follow. :)
