• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I had the rare opportunity to drink some "Old Rip Van Winkle 10" today while waiting for a ride back to the shop where my car was being worked on.

The 2 oz pour cost me $60. Bottles of it are selling for between $1400-1700 on the Net!

It was very good and I'm still feeling the "high."

Sorry that I forgot to put the EDC in my pocket in the shot. but I had more important things on my mind. LOL! ;)

PS: I also neglected to take a pic of the other 3 rare bottles of bourbon that they had sitting next 2 this one -- Pappy VW 12, 15 & 20. Was quoted $70, $90 & $150 for 2 oz pours these and I'm definitely planning to go back it drink some (if not all) of them as well.

Pappy 15 is my favorite. Have a bottle stashed away that I got when my son was born.

How is that? I am seeing it pop up more often as of late.
Frey Ranch is a local distillery to me, and I have a distant relative there who works there and I’m all about supporting local. It’s quite enjoyable, but you definitely know it is cask strength.
That being said, I don’t think I would go through the trouble of hunting it down after I finish this bottle.

All of the Van Winkle bourbons have gotten beyond ridiculous. I remember when they could actually be purchased in a store... sometimes even weeks after they went out. My favorite is the 20 yr, I grabbed two bottles/year (one from each release) and drank one with friends. Did that a few years running. Those were the days...
