Blades & Bourbon

just read where a warehouse in Washington DC and Justin's House of Bourbon were caught with of cases of counterfeit Blantons
Thankfully, I'm not particularly enamored with Blanton's. I do have a bottle that I bought a few years ago (because it was there and not overpriced)...I keep thinking about trying it again; but not doing it because I remember not loving before. (Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad... but, for me, it didn't live up to the hype)

I agree. I picked one up for msrp a year or so ago. It is over hyped for much more than that. To me it is a decent one, but nothing special.

I think some people in Oregon’s government just got canned for buying pappy for themselves through contacts.

I just read where a warehouse in Washington DC and Justin's House of Bourbon were caught with of cases of counterfeit Blantons.
It also mentioned how Buffalo Trace is trying to be pro active in the fight against counterfeiters.
I dont believe they have been proven to be counterfeits yet. The issue as of now is that they were imported and sold illegally.

So, I've got 6 bottles of Eagle Rare and 1 bottle of Blanton's that I'm holding in reserve.

Should I just drink the Blanton's? LOL! ;)

This was my basement stash back in the good ole days before all the marketing sent everything to insane levels. I was paying $18 for Old Weller 750's. I also enjoyed drinking every single bottle in there! I will probably never see most of these bottles again but glad I had them. No FXcking way I am paying today's prices!!!

Glengoyne and the Balvenie lines are readily available almost everywhere, excellent pours !
Jefferson and Booker's also can be found, Whistlepig 10 also, not my Rye, but it's available.
Evan Williams is still sub $30, excellent pour for the money.

I was told the Evan Williams single barrel has been discontinued, something about they could use that juice in bottles that command more money. I'm glad that I have a couple bottles of it stashed in the bunker if that is the case. Brad

I did try the Blade and Bow before and didn't noticed anything special.
Received this bottle today from my neighbors and did put a tad of water in it and imagine this - I love it !
I'm not sure I had something from the famous Stitzel - Weller before, will look for the other release they have because now I'm curious.
Cheers forum boys and girls !
