Blades & Bourbon

Few from last week, home and local Linkster's Bar.

One from previous Friday with my Bourbon Buddies:
Heavy hitters right there, love the SW's Rye with the higher proof:

Not a hard liquor but I'm sure you'll appreciate the funny element of it

I’m a fan of the Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered. Every batch is a little different. Haven’t tried the Rye yet but I might have to after seeing your recommendation,

The single barrel is a great drink to me
Absolutely love it. No ice, just a little bit cold water in it. It opens up a whole bunch of flavors !!! Cheers my friend !
FYI: Got mine from Sam's club - $38, great price, BJ has it for $42, TW around me usually have it around $46-$48.
Higher proof runs much more expensive but I love this one. 😂

I like better the Rye, but keep in mind - both are really high proof, I needed little bit of water and left the glass for about 10min to breed... Not necessary i think,
it's only me but I agree - SW is a great Bourbon. It's mostly MGP but I also happen to love the Indiana Bourbon a lot. SW in those impressions is really hard to find, at least around me in FL.
If you're not that lucky to come across bottle, I would suggest to look at the Smooth Ambler (Indiana MGP) Old Scout line - absolutely outstanding juice IMO. I hope you are familiar with it
Below is a link to their signature Rye series, you can find it across the country and it should be around $50-$60 price range, but people are buying it in the moment they see it because it is very good and tasty.
Smooth Ambler completely sold out their first release of this and it was a wait of another few years till they were ready with the second release. Personal favorite, very good company.
Old Scout Single Barrel 5yo 114 proof Rye

Cheers Gents ! have a nice weekend !

Here in Michigan the state beverage board controls minimum pricing but not max. I have in store that is owned by a younger couple so I pay a little more to support them. If I get above normal proof, I head to cask strength around 120+ proof.
I have yet to try the chilled water. Need to put some in the fridge.

Yesterday in the backyard under the umbrella in +90F weather:

Smoked a (Ghurka Legend Vintage 2001 Toro), drank a double shot of Buffalo Trace (actually had 2 of these) and finished reading an old Tom Clancy inspired book written by someone named David Michaels- Ghost Recon (2008) . . .

I've been go go go at my new job, and today marks the start my first full week off with no beach or cross country plans, just relax (and catch up on house chores). Been up since I left for work yesterday evening, decided to treat myself a bit, up from the bottom shelf plastic bottle house bourbon...

The knife just plunged into the glass really got me laughing haha 🤣
Ha ha ha... It's better for the picture, those bar tables are small, crowded and under the poor light... 😁

Here is something I'm trying, in the middle of the second week currently.

Lot's of potential to have "Cigar..." properties in your everyday drinks, without paying outrages prices for Brand name label with "Cigar cut/batch" on it.
I'll keep you posted if you Gents care

Getting ready for bed. Sipping Ezra Brooks Distillers Collection out of the bottle. Colonial Ranger on the tablet, waiting.
