Boker "Tree Brand Classic" & Solingen made traditional knives

Oh, boy. I looked pretty hard at one of those. As I suspected, they are even better looking in natural light than in the stock photos. Well done!
Thanks Bruce. Full disclosure, this one has an issue with the blade. I’ve contacted the dealer and I’m waiting to hear back from them. If you look closely at the mark side just below and slightly in front of the long pull you can see some blemishes in the Damascus. I didn’t notice it at first, but it’s there and the only thing I’m worried about is the integrity of the blade at that point. If anyone out there has any thoughts I’d love to hear them. I’m by no means an expert on anything really, least of all Damascus steel.
i'd love to see a picture of all your Boker Barlow knives together... it must be approaching epic proportions. 🤠
That is a great idea John. When we finish the Boker room addition on our house I’ll gladly take a picture! 🤣🤣🤣

Got this Prime Barlow (boy’s knife) the other day. View attachment 1752543View attachment 1752542

I see no problem with the blade on that knife. If you're considering the mark just below and forward of the long pull a fault, I don't think so. Perhaps a tiny, tiny, blemish but that's the nature of Damascus sometimes. I would not send the knife back. It's a very, very, nice knife and the Damascus is nicely done.

Thanks for replying Ed, yours is a valued opinion. I really didn’t want to send it back. Other than that it is a great knife. 👍

If you'll notice, the swirl/arc of the pattern really tightens at that point squeezing the pattern together. I don't even think it's really a blemish at all - just the nature of the beast.

Don't mean to belabor the point. Just blathering as usual. Well, since I'm blathering, I'd keep it.

Not at all Ed. Like I said I’ve picked up a few Damascus Bokers but I’m really new to the steel so I appreciate any input. 😊👍
That's a beauty.
Thanks Gordon, it’s really nice, and now I feel better about the steel. The action is fantastic, it’s flush in all positions. I’m very happy with it. 👍

Hi Todd, this Barlow is number 1326.
Do you happen to know how many were made?

This tiny Stag lockback is no mere novelty, very grippy scales and a fearsomely sharp blade- kind of pocket PSK

Those little lockbacks are great. They really do punch above their weight. Nice stag on that one, Will.
I put this one in my watch pocket once in awhile. I had one in stag that I gave to one of my sons.

Thank you, Todd. I found it on Ebay in Germany and it was not expensive, the box is not the original.

It has beautiful grain and that etch is really cool. I have the Bear and Turkey and didn’t pay much for those either. The Turkey had the original box but the Bear didn’t.
I don’t know how many of each were made, a quick Google search didn’t turn up much information. I’m going to dig a little deeper when I get home.

Gorgeous Gary, I’ve kinda gotten into the Damascus lately. Boker has a lot of Damascus offerings and that one is really nice. 😎👍

Thanks Gary, is that quince wood on the Dam version? Very attractive, yes these mites do come in surprisingly handy.

Thanks too bigfish64 bigfish64

After reading this thread I purchased a couple. The neat little club with the Castle Burg wood caught my eye and I also purchased a prime with nice curly birch scales.

The club came very sharp, I will touch up the prime a bit. Beautiful finish on them, very pleased!!
