Good luck, WW. Hope to hear from you soon. And watching new "Drunk guy with knives" videos with you rampaging all over your property.:D

Finally got around to changing the hardware on my 9 yesterday, well they would not come out for the life of me. After a little bit of a conversation I got the sobs out, and I am glad I did... Now I typically keep my knives very clean, sharp, ready to go, but I honestly dont remember the last time I popped off the handles on this thing. Its last camping trip was quite the wet one as we got poured on from dusk till dawn, and eaten whole by a hoard of ticks, but it/they didnt show any exterior rust, but what I found wasnt rust... but some foul smelling God only knows what kind of face eating bacteria... So if any of you haven't done this in a while... might want to just for fun ;)

I would try to culture whatever this is, but I dont want to be arrested for creating a chemical WMD... Might be good on some crunchy frenchy bread... lol No other Becker screwed on handled knife I own have I ever seen something as yummy as this...

Yeah I wouldnt mind catching those. Whered you get them and are they catfish or bullheads? All we got around here are bullheads that I know of. Never caught one close to those sizes. We got alot of eel pout around here. Caught a 15lber once. Fuggin nasty looking things. They taste fuggin awesome though. My uncle cooked some up in bacon and taters and was one of the best fish I remember eating. Might have just been all the absorbed bacon fat though;) The texture of them is like lobster.

Found out the world record for bullheads is 8lbs, typically only growing to 2lbs. Explains why I never caught one larger than that.

Looks like it, haha. Just kiddin' around man, those are awesome.

Lol thanks. We had a blast today. I hadn't been catfishing since I was a little fella and really didn't fish then, so this was quite the experience. We ended up catching 16 fish in 4 hours. The top pic was our biggest one that weighed in at 19lbs. Next pic was an 18lb and a 13lb. I believe the final pic was a 15lb and a 11lb or somewhere around there.

cripes, you must make a HUGE sandwich if those are 'little'!

Ha! We didn't keep any of the big ones we caught, but we did keep 5 under 24". I'll be cooking some up tonight to see how it is.

Nice catches, wildcat. Looks great! Spike, hope your ankle heals up nicely.

Thanks!

They are catfish. I don't remember exactly where you are from in MN, but I don't think you are too far from them. We were fishing on the Red River near Grand Forks with a guide I met this spring.

Next time you need to go noodling AC,

Would be fun, but not in this river. Just a few feet out from shore it is darn near 20 feet deep in places.

Them big cats look like fun.

Here, it was all second breakfast and such.

Might be too late, but good luck with the move bud. Hope we hear from you again soon.

About 2 hrs north of duluth, other side of the state. Never caught a catfish around here and cant think of anybody that has. Caught a descent amount of bullheads in Vermillion and rivers around it but as far as I know theres no catfish. Dont fish in big rivers much where they are. I know alot of people that go over to that side of the state to fish in the Detroit lakes.

they look like channel cats to me.
around here it's mostly channel cat with the occasional blue or flathead.
peel one of those and smoke it - the layer of char on the outside holds in the moisture and when it's done, you can drop it about 6-9" onto the table and the meat falls off the bones.

smoked catfish po-boy.... mmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Nice gunk IWHAF! mmm knife cheese.

Great looking fish there AC! bet they fry up nice!

Damn Guyon, those are some tasty looking biscuits
