The Spey blade has super nice lines, much more attractive than the standard Spey. Is it this blade profile that gives the name "Panama Trapper" ?

So is "Panama Trapper" so named because of the frame shape or because of the Clip and Semi Skinner blade combination, or both, or neither ?

I'll give you the readers digest version:

Tony made our good friend from Panama, Juan, a single-blade BP with semi-skinner blade. I shot the knife and posted it and another friend of T's wanted one too but as a 2-blade BP with the semi-skinner secondary.

When T finished the knife, I picked it up to shoot it and he said to me, "We should come up with a name for this knife." When I posted it I mentioned in the post that we could use some ideas for a name for the knife and I gave my suggestion, "Panama Trapper" since T had just finished up that BP before for Juan. Search thru the old posts and you'll find the rest of the story but that's all the good parts. ;)

Panama Trapper...it rolls off the tongue. :p

Friends,

WOW! Great photos from "Way North", courtesy of Randy, really showing what the Bose knives are capable of. Fantastic!

Then we get teased with a Panama Trapper or maybe it should be called a "Juan Special"! :D Again, just Cool as Heck, and I bet that it too will really cut! :p

Great Photos Kerry, and again great work from Tony!

Leaping lizards....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodness gracious, great balls of fire....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll write something cogent upon my return from the ER...!!!!!!!!

The further north you go, the bigger the moose. Nice one ! I've only hunted for the "smaller" ones here in S/E B.C., but when you have to de-bone and pack out, any moose is friggin' huge, not small at all !
roland

Kenai peninsula I seen some REAL bigguns...my wife is from Homer, have yet to take a moose though (i only take what i'll use, i'd never use a whole moose), spent more time fishing for 400lb+ halibut :D

This thread has really got me amped for a bose knife, the case/bose collab swing guards most of all! something about a big back pocket knife appeals to me and I know i'd use the hell out of it.

Ok, I just got back from a trip to the Darien jungle, one of the few remaining large extensions of tropical rain forest left in the world. I dropped my backpack and checked my e-mails where I found a cryptic note from Dr. Kerry. Right away I opened the Blade Forum and almost fell off my chair when I saw the truly wonderful pictures of such a special Panama Trapper. I have no words to express my gratitude to Mr. Bose. I feel as if I just received a package enclosing a painting from Leonardo Da Vinci himself with a note saying: To Juan, my pal. I mean, I'd hate to come across as corny or something but I truly don't care. I'm just immensely grateful and humbled that Tony would built a knife for me.

I'm attaching a picture of the Saila (chief) from the Madugandi sector of Darien. He's 90 (or more, he truly doesn't know) and he's holding a great great (I don't know how many greats) granddaughter. Please note my Bose Backpocket hanging from his right hand.

Thank you, Dr. Bose. Thank you, Kerry. You guys make this a better world.
