Does anyone kno what grit a Bose ground blade is brought...such as this great looking knife? Is there a reason for a hand sanded finish vs. a ground finish other than tradition? Thanks

The "as ground" finish hides useage scratches,also,I do believe,some of the steels used,dont take as good a ground finish and or,a hand sanded finish,if you follow.

This knife would need to be handled in person to fully appreciate it, but I think you'll get the idea. The ivory on this one is stunning. There is so much going on with one of these swing-guard lockbacks to make them work properly, and then to go and build one with ivory is madness! Kudos to the Old Dog, who's not quite ready to spend his days layin on the porch just yet.:D

Love the large swell center with swing guard. There is a lot of real-estate to cover on that knife. From the double nail pulls to the rounded cap bolster.

Boy, that is the truth. From a maker's point of view, I like the knife that is around 4" to grind and finish out. Small knives are easier to screw up in less time because there's less material to remove. Big knives are easier to screw up because there's so much more surface to get clean and true. "Boogies" (that's what Tony calls cosmetic issues) would show up on a knife like that like a rat turd in a bowl of sugar. :D
