Bose Knives

Very cool little blade. Mini cotton sampler?

I know it says "1" on it, but there are two blades. Not for cotton pickin'.

This Doctor's knife is a variation on the standard pen or spatula secondary. Existing old knives of these are very rare and Tony has never seen one except in catalog reprints. The scalpel blade is ground exceptionally thin, and I might add, was done by hand as is most of the work on this and all of the knives at Wilfred Works. ;) You have your basic hole drilling and pivot pocket/nail nick milling but, other than that, hands are on the stuff being shaped.

This one is nicely covered in old Napanoch bone and stamped #1 (See Doc, there's a couple more of these floating around somewhere so it's not a new trick afterall :p) Tony says he made his first one of these 10 years ago. One thing you should notice is the symetrical double-step on the scalpel blade. The whole knife is exceptional really...not bad for an old, one-eyed guy from Podunk, USA. :D:thumbup::cool:

Kerry,
I know all about the first one. It's what started me on this journey.
The new trick is the double step grind on the vet blade. The first one didn't have that:

It was really great to meet you at the show,

Bill that is a dandy to say the least! I will see if I can stuff a pig in a Medium Flat Rate Box and you can give us a field report later. BTW: Fell free to keep whatever you cut!

I am sure that will occupy a high place in the Doctor's section of your outstanding collection. Congrats!

I have recently found a new love in slip joint knives. Six months ago I never gave them another look. Then I started getting the itch and needed to scratch it. Now I find myself looking for more slippies than other knives. So far I have 5 Bose knives. 4 in the house and one en-route. I also have two Dowell's on the way and one Menefee. Can't wait to get my paws on the latter three. Here is what I have so far.

JC,
I know exactly how you feel. The same thing happened to me about a year ago. Now, slipjoints, lockbacks & a couple straight knives comprise most of my knife collection.
