Bose Knives

what is good stuff for a pocketknife blades 1095,w2,52100 is theyre any advantage from one to the other?
My choice would be W2, or 1086M, because of the extremely fine grain, capable of that special scary sharpness and holds a good edge.

01, 52100 and 1095 would do well, just not quite as good.

First knife I ever made was with W2, and it is probably my fav steel and love seeing what others are doing with it (in regards to flashy heat treating)...would love to see Tony put some of those smaller fixed paring blades he does in it!

I had this English jack by Don with his W2 and I really liked how that steel cut.

It would be great on a Bose knife, but then again so would Don's damascus with Tony's ivory.

Rick, 52100 is my favorite, hands down, but A2 is a close second. I really like the D2 in the knife I have from you, but it definitely holds a different kind of edge that 52100.

Mike, all kiddin aside, I really am sorry you lost that knife.

I'll send Tony the damascus, if he wants to make you a knife. :)

Thanks for the explanations Gents!
So is there a slang term for "stock removal" guys?? I mean, they must kinda feel left out, if they don't have a cool name like "Wompers"!

Stock guys are out # about 10 to 1 around here for some reason. I would love to do some of it and i do have a big mean whomping machine. My body cant take the physical demands anymore. Plus my shop is cooler!

There was some stiddy 'whomping' going on at Don's shop Saturday. I lesson in slackening the blade by the master.

Man, a T. Bose with W2 or 1086M...that would be a rare bird. A sweet rare bird!
