Bose Knives

I sat down to check out this thread for the 1st time this morning. A couple of hours and a full pot of coffee later all I can say is "WOW' - the artistic beauty of the Bose knives is simply incredible. Thanks to all of you for sharing the photos and a big thank you to Mr. Bose for sharing his gift.

Blues has it right The wharncliffe trapper is my favorite knife. I usually carry a BackPocket knife in my back pocket of course and a Case CV swayback jack in my watch or shirt pocket. You can't carry too many knives. Thank you guys for your interest in what I do.

My recollection is that Reese didn't use them because the original knives, (which they are paying homage to), didn't employ them and he was staying true to the old ways.
There may be more to it than that but that's what I remember about that discussion from the past.

To be honest, I don't think you can tell the difference for the most part.

It has nothing to do with the past and everything to do with him being too hard headed to use them. Bushings are a better pivot. More bearing surface, dissimilar material, and leaves the blade free. You can really bang down the pivot pin and not lock the knife up and hide the pivot pin better. It's just a better pivot. You can't tell if it's in there or not but I know it in there. I think it makes a better pivot so that's what I do. Good enough is not good enough if you can make it better even if you can't see it.

I stand corrected. Thanks for taking the time to provide that explanation, Tony.

Thanks for the explanation, Tony.
My sons and I don't make knives, but I can appreciate the hard headed reference. 👍

You don't have to have sons to understand the hard headed aspect of children, as can attest!
I have always believed that bushings made a "better" knife and to read the Old Dogs explanation
adds the masters seal of approval. Thanx Tony...

Thank You Tony for doing this. It allows for some people, lucky people,to get one of your knives. At the same time we are supporting the National Knife Collectors Association

Sheaths are right side vertical belt loop carry. All of Larry Parsons sheaths are hand picked saddle grade leather,of the finest kind, hand split. Gorgeous & functional. Tony & I both agree this really makes for a great package all around

Thanks Joe,the big thanks to Tony for this. He is taking out time to ensure some knives are available , while helping out the NKCA

This knife is big enough to field dress a whitetail, would be a great bird & trout, and is the perfect size for an EDC fixed blade , blade profile is perfect for anything. This is the most useful knife there is,all around,IMO.
