Quite a snag there, good looking wharnie, Congrats
James
I know Kerry will come along and give you the proper Ho greeting for new acquisitions.

Thanks James. The knife and I hit it off from the start. Gashed my finger within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box. Guess it was letting me know in advance that if I didn't take care of it, it would kick my ass.

Sweet lawdy my goodness yes...that is a dandy cnas! A "0" stamped anything is (generally speaking) the knife that follows the "Prototype". Only the first knives of a particular pattern (generally speaking) are stamped "Prototype" and then 0 thru 9, so basically 11 knives get serialized.

You've got an early one. Maybe Tony has some history on it since it is so stamped. Congrats on the good catch. It sure is a great looking knife and, I might add, screaming to be used.

Sharp aint it :)

Thanks all. Actually, the trapper above is not the one stamped with "0". I found a very nice stag 3" coffin jack stamped with "0" but the seller is asking a premium because of the mark. Obviously something is worth only what someone is willing to pay, but I am more of a user as opposed to a collector, so I don't know if I'm willing to pay extra just because it is an early blade.

On another note, I just want to get everyone's take on this...not saying I will try/do it. My father is quite ill (cancer unfortunately) and he has always admired my 2 T. Bose blade wharncliffe trapper and has been trying to find one for a while. I really, really want to get him one as a gift. When I found the single blade trapper above...I started thinking. What if I asked Reese to put a clip blade on it and make it a double. That way, I would be able to give him a real "father/son" wharncliffe trapper. I love this knife, but obviously I love my father more. Do you guys think this is doable, and should I even ask someone to mess with an otherwise perfect (in my opinion) knife?

Thanks,

Campbell

Campbell,
I do not quite understand. Why don't you just give your father your T Bose WT you speak of ?
-Vince

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going thru with your dad and it's nice to see that you are wanting to honor him with a very nice gift. I'll just tell you what I think based on the little I know about making knives.

I would never pull apart a perfectly fine working knife to add a blade. It's not that easy to make a knife and get them to look and work nearly as good as what Tony and Reese make. Plus, the parts for multi blade knives are made at the same time and the tolerances for these matching parts are very close. There's no parts bin where you can reach for some extra matching parts and...VIOLA!..turn a single blade into a 2 blade knife.

Doable, yes, but not practical. Good question though.

Oh, and to answer your question Vince...he won't accept it. I've tried probably 243 times. I've even left it in his office hidden in his desk drawer and a couple days later I will find it in my glove compartment or something. I'll find him one though.

I knew there had to be a reason.Obvious,but I couldn't figure it out :D
I see you are on Kerry's list as a Blade go-er,good luck to you then,

Campbell you get an Official Damn You!!!!! for that precious
lil trapper gorgeous in everyway

Best Wishes to you and your father I'm sure if you scratch around at Blade you will sniff out a WT Good Luck!

This is the first one of these that I know of that I have handled and shot so I had to ask Tony what the heck I was looking at. This pattern was designed for 2000 Case/Bose Collaboration and is the "cousin" of the 4" "Backpocket".

Thanks to 2shot for letting us have a look at both the knife and the ebony 1911 grips in the foreground. You can see more images of this knife in Kent's Gallery on BoseKnives.com.

Kerry,what's the other tool,w/your stamp,is that a Golf thingy (I don't play golf ?)
-V

Yep...that be a golf tool with mammoth tooth. Kinda weird huh, mammoth eats grass, golf ball makes dent on green, mammoth golf tool fixes dent....circle of life. :)

A beautiful knife, marvelous grips, and a neat little golf tool, all wrapped up in a great picture.
Thank you Kerry.
